This. Transcoding is a dream and the Emby apps are flawless (the ones we are using at least).
If that counts for you, but I've just used it with CachyOS on a 2017 XPS with no issues and performance was great.
Same for me, has been broken for about 4 weeks.
Let's not get started with that... those same people also say "viertel nach drei" to mean 3:15 (one quarter after the "third hour" has passed), which is really confusing to the uninitiated, so "viertel vier" is preferable IMHO...
Yeah? Well, you know, thats just like uh your opinion, man.
And, its dismissive and ignorant. IMHO.
Not to mention the 100 steps you have to do to get their, of course...
I run ublock in all my browsers and devices, but other people on my network (family) don't, so pihole helps there. Its really not an either-or question, they are complementary.
The year of the linux desktop is near, it's next year! Again!
Jetbrains Gateway offers remote editing as well. It's still Beta and certainly has some rough edges, but it works ok-ish as a daily driver and is actively developed. The last update few weeks ago even added Dev Containers support (to an extend).

When I need to collect multiple tabs for a specific topic/task I've found workspaces to be much more practical than tab groups.

I have hemochromatosis and here in Germany it's impossible for me to donate blood. It's not actually forbidden, afaik, but no company want's to give 'contaminated' blood to patients, even though it would be perfectly fine.
There are so many movies I haven't had a chance to watch in a cinema, I wish more theaters would play classics on their largest screens. I just found out that one of our local cinemas now has weekly 'classic sneaks'. Lucky me.
Yes, some devs just can't merge. Even worse, IntelliJ & co have this "magic merge" button, that resolves conflicts automatically, but the results are usually a mess, esp when merging complex features. But because lazy devs are lazy, they just smash that button, commit, push without testing locally and then move on to the next topic. Naturally, we've had countless CICD failures which were attributed to "merging in git is sooo broken" ...
Do you know if they offer remote jobs?
> We copy-paste URLs instead of using bookmarks
Bookmarks are such a convenient and intuitive way to organize, I'm still baffled how few people actually use them. They exist like forever (1993 according to Wiki), yet there is always someone asking for links to sites/files/Tools/apps they use basically daily.
tbh that part about the 600 kids hit me hard enough even without explicit graphics
I despise webmail as well, Thunderbird all the way, but it has become a bit of an annoyance lately for some use-cases, so I am willing to look at alternatives.
However, some Thunderbird extensions have even become essential to me, most importantly Cardbook, which I use to manage Contacts across devices (shared via carddav on a selfhosted Nextcloud). Does M3 support carddav properly?
Also, can I add multiple mail accounts easily?
Are mails part of Vivaldi sync?
I might actually try it just to get a look at the current state. RSS client is nice, too.
Vivaldi has been my daily driver on Linux, Windows and Android for years now. It's just super efficient to work with.
- vertical tabs
- tabs tiling, stacking & 2nd tab-bar
- full page screenshots
- notes
- page actions (including a very useful CSS debugger, focus & hover highlighting, a freaking PAGE MINIMAP)
- sync
- mouse gestures
- all Chrome extensions work
- easily disable any Google services
- ad-block (i'm using it in addition to uBlock origin, uMatrix and Pi-Hole)
- no serious performance issues yet
What I DONT care about is the Email client they are working on. I'd rather see them focus on the browser features.
I don't use Vivaldi for any Google services, except search sometimes, for that I keep a Chromium instance around instead.
Same here, I host more than that on a single server at home for the family. Encrypted restic backups to Backblaze are so cheap, there's no reason not to do it.
sidenote: restic can do that too
correct, it doesn't, but using a quite common scheme like this makes onboarding and reasoning about git-related issues easier. YMMV.
Good for you that you found something that works for you. But why the random length restrictions to 4 chars, seems kind of outdated? Also, how does using only a "next" branch for development scale for teams (maybe using a fork-based workflow?).
While I use a similar approach like yours on my personal projects, I still prefer the widely known and battle proven Git-Flow when working on agile teams:
- master
- develop (optional)
- feature/*
- release/*
- bugfix/* (optional)
- hotfix/*
> your brain does make that kind of connection subconsciously
This should work both ways then. So loving black tea, black humor, Black Mirror, Black Swan and the color black in general would make me like "black people" more because my brain does the wiring subconsciously when it reads the term "black"? Nope. Don't think so. But maybe making everything about race is, well, racist?
Or she could use OAuth with an existing login from Google, Apple, Facebook or even Github and Gitlab, if she fancies that more.
"Junior" is not the same as "fat & short". It puts stigma onto you (no experience, green) and your capabilities (needs guidance, possibly bad judgment) which is certainly unfounded after working several years in the industry, no matter how niche your stack was. Switching technologies does not make you a "Junior" when you have loads of war stories to tell.
I'm curious, what stacks did you trade?
