I asked because I have partnered in part-time with a "seeking co-founder" folk few years ago ... I think I took it because I wasn't experienced neither.

It's not great. But turns out okay. It did become a passive income. (I know it's very rare to happen.)

Can you tell me some story about the "seeking co-founder" types?

I witnessed a lot similar stories in software companies.
Fire the team manager. Promote a new one within the team.

Re:Ask HN: How do you earn your money? on Saturday March 22, 2014 @09:59PM (#7451768)
You are right. Developer is just labor. Not too much different than a server in an resturant.

So how did a server become an resturant owner? You need to think about that.

Re:Ask HN: Why is free space pink colored? on Thursday March 13, 2014 @04:02AM (#7390556)
I know that purple is very close to invisible lights. Maybe that's the reason. Purple, invisible, nothing.
The image was taken on March 9 11:00 AM and relaesed on Marh 12. That's about 48 hours.

Also note that their work is to "found the airplane" not to "release the image".

I think there are a few different satellites that their imaging systems respond to different lightwaves.
I had some experience with this.

- Define the % in different ranges. When the sales is less than X, you got them all. - The company may stop their effort on this product. - You may disagree with the company. Maybe you should get a better % for yourself, if you want to take control. - You'd better to get an inital pay.

It's, basically, co-found a project.

You need value your self's work, the company's work, and the potetioal of this thing, etc.

A releated question:

I need to adjust the brightness a few times every day just to match the ambient light.

Are there any better solutions?

I don't use the laptop display as the watching angle is not healthy. I use dell displays.

You never heard of Xunlei? It's a Chinese product and it's like just $20 a year.

Xunlei has a huge network and it's very likely the content you want is already in their server and has been encoded.

Ask HN: An average developer's work seems meaningless?

I have been wondering what people need. Most people would love to have a better house, furniture, food, etc. They barely need a better software.I was a developer for 8 years. I worked in some corporation and some startup, and it's the same issue all around. The product is not really been needed nor used.I can see that companies like Google had a good impact on the world but they have a good...

Re:I never finish anyth on Friday January 17, 2014 @10:07AM (#7076098)
I've finished something before. It pays back somehow.

But now I barely working on anything. I admit I don't like any work at all. Working for Google or SpaceX? No.

I think we want to finish something because we are not satisfied with our current life. If you feel your current status is okay, it's not easy to get motived to put yourself into some extra work.
