News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

I've been using Flurry for the past year and thinking of switching. I don't like the way Flurry presents data on their platform and the website is really slow.
Thank you! :)
I launched my first app in March 2013 and it's basically paying off my school tuition. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spinme-alarm-clock-guarantee...

If you haven't made an account yet I could refer you to airbnb and you'll get a $25 credit. http://airbnb.ca/c/aalshurafa

Re:Ask HN: Weekend project stories on Sunday June 29, 2014 @04:57AM (#7960733)
Last year I made my first iOS app as a fun side project that solved a problem I had - waking up on time. http://spinmealarm.com

I spent most of my reading week making the app, and then another 2-3 weeks polishing it. A few months later I decided to post it on Hacker News as a "Show HN". It only got a few upvotes but a TechCrunch journalist somehow saw it and decided to write a post on it. It's done pretty well in the App Store, reaching #1 in its category at one point. Nowadays it hovers in the Top 100 Utilities category.

Working on updating my current alarm clock app http://www.spinmealarm.com to have a social aspect that will gamify your wake up experience.
You know when you learn a new word, and then you suddenly start seeing it everywhere? You've probably been seeing the word your entire life but you haven't noticed it because you didn't know what it meant. This is pretty similar.

Isn't this basically like the Magic Cube laser keyboard? http://www.celluon.com/products.php
I'd be interested in a free account too!

They would cut you off less than half way through that pitch.

Been using them for the last 2 years, not too hard when you take an Uber literally everywhere.
Re:The $357 Uber Ride on Wednesday April 23, 2014 @01:32AM (#7632313)
No, but I will need to tell my story soon enough.
Re:The $357 Uber Ride on Wednesday April 23, 2014 @01:16AM (#7632262)
I've referred thousands of users to Uber and managed to earn over $100,000 in credits. I was only able to use $40,000 worth until they suspended my account for reasons unknown. I've been trying to contact their support for weeks now and like OP, they always ignore my messages and mark my case as "solved". Uber is fraud and more people need to know this.
If the buyer is getting a wallet shipped on a USB drive then the seller doesn't need to know the buyer's wallet address.
Re:Ask HN: why are my 'show HN' posts ignored every single time? on Tuesday November 05, 2013 @09:02PM (#6680044)
Well..the same thing happened to my app one time. It only got like 4 up votes or something but somehow a TechCrunch writer saw it and decided to write a post about it.

Re:Show HN: My first iOS app - a super effective alarm clock on Wednesday June 05, 2013 @04:41PM (#5828462)
Thanks, I'm adding more alarm tones soon. You'll hear a default alarm even if there's no music selected when the app isn't running.

No you can't, you need to keep 2 thumbs on the screen in the same position while you spin around. And you also need to keep the device flat. It's foolproof :)
