duked

I'm not sure how they came up with these numbers but I live in VA and the housing cost seems unrealistic for many cities (not just talking about NOVA).

I also want to share that I paid for COBRA $1,660 a month for for my family coverage (spouse + 2 kids) so $400 is probably not true in many cases even if single it seems really a low estimate
I'm also interested as I just started looking into it for my kids. Right now, they only have access to 1h/day max of screen time. I take the ipad and put it in kiosk mode with one app only (ABCs/Reading/Math) and I pick it up after 30mins and redo the same setup with youtube for kids (they watch 15mins) and again another time where they pick a moderately educational game and that's my routine. I think there must be an app where I can select which apps are allowed and how much time so I don't have to use a timer and give them a sense of "freedom" haha.
Re:Radeon Open Compute 3.0 on Monday December 23, 2019 @07:24PM (#21868796)
would this help in running tensorflow on the latest MBP 16 ? If so any guide out there, the documentation is not super helpful
This is a great tutorial. However, every time I see RNN/CNN it's always applied to some video stream or set of images. I really would like to find some tutorial but applied to event logs or other text-based input. Anyone has a good link for that?
Re:ESA Space CyberSecurity Call for Ideas on Thursday May 09, 2019 @11:42AM (#19869254)
Interesting but I wonder about the volume of submissions they will receive. Since the outcome is very vague in terms of potential business: "Ideas that meet the evaluation criteria of this call - in consultation with the proposers of the ideas - will be considered for the preparation of technology development activity proposals."

If you are in this line of work, I think people would rather spend their time to respond to an RFP.

Re:Ask HN: Best place to sell a web app? on Monday April 29, 2019 @03:20PM (#19781688)

Ask HN: Do you have a side project you want to sell?

A similar thread gets posted every now and then. I think it's time for an update. If you have any side projects that you've built and that you no longer have time for, list them here and let's see if others want to buy it from you.I'm personally interested in anything security related (SaaS preferred).

I agree, the guy sounds like someone really arrogant and while what happened is totally wrong it is really hard to feel any empathy towards him :/

Show HN: A Complete View of Your Cloud Security Posture for AWS

Hi HN,This is something we've been building to simplify AWS security monitoring for mis-configurations, inventory, potential attacks review and a little cost saving module. It's not fully finished but I would love some feedback and connect with people who need AWS security. Please use our Enterprise plan to enable of the feature and the coupon code "CLOUDHAWK-BETA" (press enter) to get 2 months...

We're building something very security oriented if you'd like to try and give your feedback ([email protected]) ? Thanks for mentioning Jupiter one we've never heard of it but interesting product !
I'm working on something related to security too. I would love to connect but no email on your profile.

the Mac client is available but Skype support is tomorrow :/
Re:About V, the language Volt is written in on Wednesday February 06, 2019 @09:51PM (#19102553)
I will for sure. Their latest client is just too hostile.

I really would love an alternative to the horrible Skype client but I doubt it. AFAIK, you can't make your own unless things have changed ?
I just went on their yelp page and was noticed a huge spike in negative review (talk about the streisand effect...). but what surprised me was the yelp notification: "Active Cleanup Alert

This business recently made waves in the news, which often means that people come to this page to post their views on the news.

While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to these news events, we do work to remove both positive and negative posts that appear to be motivated more by the news coverage itself than the reviewer’s personal consumer experience with the business.

As a result, your posts to this page may be removed as part of our cleanup process beginning Tuesday, May 29, 2018, but you should feel free to post your thoughts about the recent media coverage for this business on Yelp Talk at any time. "

So is it like the news coverage never happened ? seems kind of disingenuous to remove everything during that period (whatever time frame they will decide on is interesting too)
