I recommend using Spybot Anti-Beacon [1], which is a safe way of disabling (or enabling) Windows 10 features.

I'd like more customization with the gutter API [1]. You can only have a single icon per line in the gutter, and plugins often fight for that spot.

This won't work because it requires user input. People are lazy, and unless you are extremely disciplined I guarantee you will stop wanting to use that input box very soon after installing.
Re:React Router 2.0.0

You made it seem like this is released. Right now the official version is v2.0.0-rc4.
Router enthusiasts are definitely a target audience. Average demographics won't pay $200 for a router.

You can cleanly implement that "welcome back!" example using flux actions and stores, without having to bubble down events.

It doesn't have hardware video acceleration, unfortunately.

I don't like how I can't change the number of lines of code. It'd be faster to completely rewrite some of the solutions!

Maybe instead of grinding out code he hates, he should find something he enjoys coding, or maybe don't code at all.

The article mentions to practice code-oriented challenges. Are there are good resources out there to help with this?

Buttercoin dropped the original JavaScript repository and rewrote the entire thing in Scala/Java. They are not releasing the new software, but planning on white-labeling their new product (very similar to bex.io).

This is one of those few projects that everyone is really excited about. Docker will change many aspects of software development for the better.
Re:Ask HN: How do you do your To-Do list?

I use text files and Dropbox. If I'm on an iPhone I send new tasks to Dropbox using Drafts.

Additionally, some of these libs are unoptimized and performance will change with time.
Either way, since the performance differences are so small, it's probably best to go with what's easiest to work with.

Re:A negative captcha

This is a form of security through obscurity. A bot could easily (relative to a positive captcha bot) be created to check if the form fields are visible.
Re:Unpaid internships in San Francisco
on Thursday June 06, 2013 @06:15PM (#5835515)
To be fair, a lot of these companies may not have the funding to hire paid employees. It is also often more of a burden on the technical manager to manage the interns in the first place.
It really is good experience for the intern, and if they actually had experience in the first place then they likely won't be applying to unpaid internships.
Re:Rebuild YouTube's mobile-like progress bar in jQuery

I like it. Just remember if you use this in production, save $("#progress") in a variable in the ajaxStart function to improve performance (this will call Sizzle one less time usually).
