I think for what is important you can make it important effectively forever.

Yeah I think there is a work around.. but it will take this comment board to bubble it up

Yeah if I don't fall in line with our un-elected SJWs and push out bay area propaganda I get flamed. Very interesting.

Love the English place names "Foulness Island".
Looks like a clone of those CIA birds

Does it have any pretty printing capabilities? Repo doesn't seem to...

That's pretty cool. Definitely going to use this on my projects.

Do you think there is legitimate business strategy to justify lack of raises?

Anecdotal Comments < Hard Evidence. US is indeed in relative decline.
Re:Show HN: Translate English to SQL on Wednesday June 05, 2019 @11:31AM (#20105418)
The reverse is way more interesting to me.... do a seemingly bunch of random aggregations and joins and send me an email of all the English versions and let me look at the results of those if I care to. The issue with these types of ideas is always that only "clean" or heavily analyzed data can generate this level of automation... and this type of tool is really only useful for when you are looking at virgin data or data that is crap.
The production value of that video had me gut busting in laughs... did they pull an PS1 intro video from strike series or something lol

This is true.. if they clear enough of the market they will have to have WAY more regulation and disclosures on them... they probably operate under a loophole though
Re:Urban-Rural Divide in American Politics on Tuesday May 21, 2019 @02:03PM (#19972865)
This is the red v. blue dichotomy... this is why I think they need to admin gubment at another split level... urban rule set V rural rule set
It would be cool if that was for an apartment
Is this right? Seems like a pretty fixable problem...
Re:Perennial Crops on Tuesday May 14, 2019 @10:20AM (#19909713)
Is there any genetic modification that can be performed on a plant to make it a perennial?
Just start saying really inappropriate things into the microphones that are not there... LOL
This is the point of high-deductable... to cast more spend on the average healthcare consumer. Also to make them price sensitive. Wellness programs are designed around making unhealthy people pay more and not trigger any of the non-discrimination issues as well. Single payer is best model proven at scale in modern countries, but it probably will take a couple decades of watching loved ones not get care before it escalates to action.
Re:A New Way of Voting That Makes Zealotry Expensive on Friday May 03, 2019 @10:43AM (#19818871)
I first heard this described in a book written by Eric A. Posner and E. Glen Weyl. The book has a lot of other cool reasonably doable ideas.

Re:A Facebook request: Write a code of tech ethics on Wednesday May 01, 2019 @10:43AM (#19797422)
The challenge here is technologists have shunned labor organization to my knowledge which is what I understand controls the cited fields. Different economic model applies to most people in technology compared to law and medicine. Smells like a buzzword article. Maybe the cloud companies could implement a code and create barriers to deploy "unethical" code... that might work.
Sell your rights to sue them to those Texas class action lawyers and call it a day.

Re:Google Cloud Healthcare API on Monday April 08, 2019 @11:11AM (#19605881)
Epic might need to bend over to the big brother uncle G soon.
modern china is definitely odd as it proclaims to be socialist and capitalist, but its a lot like 1920s America. Off the rails capitalism that ate the peoples gubment.
Has the yield curve ever gotten really inverted without a subsequent "bend over" recession following? ... IOW... is there a counter example where we can say well "maybe this time is a lot like this time?" ... otherwise sounds like the typical banker control clock in action. Good job monopoly man again! (I posses no knowledge of a better economic system)
I hope they have a sense of humor and drop some great Easter eggs for god 2.0
