Surprised it's not higher too. It's at #51 with 13 complaints.

The rough math is based on % of negative vs. positive sentiment. There's likely a ton of noise around github that diluted the math. I can look into though, thanks for the feedback.

Lol. 6 months of hearing 100s people complain about their SaaS stack, trying and replacing and rebuilding part of their stack themselves, moving to AI native alternatives, so wanted to see if what I'm hearing lines up with the data.

Just pushed an update. Should work now. Lots of traffic on the page now, thanks for the heads up.

Good call. Each row now links to every comment we counted as a complaint, so you can check them one by one.
Re:People are the hard part of AI on Saturday October 31, 2026 @04:55PM (#50320126)
In a lot of ways it is, when you remove all the humans from the loop it goes really fast. There's tons of unicorns now through AI, way more than before AI. If you are trying to make the point that any human should be able to use AI to create any unicorn, you are making the point of the article. The human still has a huge impact on it.
Re:Show HN: Software Bloat Calculator on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:51PM (#50268803)
I've been in lots of 2027 planning meetings lately. The biggest question on everyone's mind is about their tech stack.

Most people know it's bloated, but in the end, they don't cancel. I wanted to create a fun way for people to review their software stack for savings going into 2027.

Feedback welcome, my goal is just to help people during a crazy time where SaaS is literally eating itself.

Have spent the last 20 years building and launching software in some of the biggest companies in the world. Every week I hear people debating "build vs. buy" or someone bragging about how much money they saved building custom tech in house.

I think we are going into a 2027 that will be somehow even more confusing than 2026, and I wanted a place that had more data and facts and less opinions. Hopefully over time we can aggregate enough real data to build consensus.

The data comes from real people, real posts, listings from builders, and sourced stories. While one of them alone might exaggerate the truth, over time it will be obvious when you average out the data.

Just getting going with this, so would love feedback. And if you are building your own platforms, or have data to add, feel free to add it. In some places data is still thin, but I'm adding more to it each day.

Thanks for your help in getting more data out there and less opinions on the whole "build vs. buy" conversation when it comes to software platforms.

Re:Org chart is your cycle time on Saturday September 05, 2026 @10:33AM (#49576900)
My friend who is a CTO is currently about to quit because their CEO is convinced he can go faster acquiring AI native apps and integrating them. It's a mess because of the tech, but mostly it's two different ways of building.
Tried it just now and really like the concept. It's a lot more than a private leaderboard. Going to onboard the rest of our team and setup a leaderboard for our next product sprint.
If you think tracking AI usage and connecting it back to outcomes and ROI is pointless, you are likely going to be without a job soon. See commentary from Cloudflare, ClickUp, Meta, etc.
