this!
I think it’s also the reason why I was good at maths, very used to conceptualize stuff
I‘m also a self diagnosed aphant. I was so relived when I found out, school was very frustrating since there are so many learning methods that are built for people with a mind that’s able to picture stuff also hard to remember faces, I usually only know some facts about people, like they have red hair, brown eyes… even family members
but I can at least hear sounds in my mind :) I read that this is a similar spectrum thing where some people hear nothing and others can replay everything
SEEKING WORK | Remote (based in Germany)
I'm a junior front-end (open for full-stack) web developer / designer (logos, icons, packaging, graphs) and entrepreneur. I'm currently bootstrapping my own start-up and now looking for freelance work to pay the bills :D
Software: Ruby on Rails / CSS / HTML / TS / JS / Wordpress / Django
Data visualization and Geo-Analysis: R / ArcGIS
Design and Image processing: Krita / Blender / Adobe Illustrator / Gimp
Previously, I've worked at several small start-ups. I love working with small teams and getting my hands dirty, always open to work with a new tool or programming language. My colleagues and former team mates appreciate my creativity and ability to think outside the box :)

Yeah that's probably true :D it was just hard to imagine myself working with this kind of people for the rest of my life :O (of course not everyone was like this...)
I studied one year of medicine in Switzerland and switched to something different afterwards (at ETH Zürich, a more technical university). My expectations of what medicine would be like were completely different than what it actually was.
In my experience medicine was:
- too many entitled people (due to the student selection process)
- huge competition between the students (no one cooperating, or sharing learnings)
- a lot of learning by heart (which I'm not good at & is very boring)
- not very difficult to pass the exams
These were all reasons why I switched, but the main reason was the job I would end up with in the end. It's so much harder to work remote, have a good work life balance and move abroad (depending on where you live) once you start working than in other jobs.
I think even if you don't end up in machine learning in the end, having a strong computer science and math background opens you so many possibilities in this world that I would give it another go if I were you (after some rest, like others already recommended). Maybe you could make an exchange semester in another country? that can really help motivation wise :)
Good luck!!
You say that some people want to have their own bank. "That the cryptocurrency space exists in the first place is the evidence of this."
Sorry, but that's just not true. Crypto exists because people think they can win money with this Ponzi Scheme!! ONLY reason! Greed
Hahahahaha, people try ponzi schemes in different forms every 50 years or so and it always makes few sketchy people rich and ruins a ton of idiots :D
I think it's good that unique user tracking is not possible with Fugu. In my opinion, a lot of developers and companies start tracking all kind of detailed user data only because it's possible and they feel like they might need it later. Data collection and analysation can become an obsession, that doesn't even really serve a real purpose anymore :D and is just invading peoples privacy for nothing
I completely agree! I think we should go further and teach cooking at school. Finally kids would learn something they could use every day :)
Is this usually a legit journal??

I'm a co-founder of kosmos school (educational VR games) and froggodoggo (side-gig platform for founders). I would love to have a very informal place to talk to other women (or else, see below) about startup-stuff, discuss what we are working on, motivate and help each other... that's why I just opened this server.
Note: Even if it says "women" in the name, it doesn't exclude men, trans or non-binary folks, everyone welcome as long as it stays friendly, safe and inclusive :)

congrats on your platform! I actually just joined yesterday :) really happy to share my thoughts after some weeks, so far I like it
I understand the first reaction of anyone that is excluded (in this case men are actually not excluded) from a group, it feels bad and maybe unfair. But the sad reality in most countries is, that women are treated differently especially in tech. As long as this is the case, we need communities like WomenMake to support and learn from each other. You might know from other examples that it feels good to talk to someone who had to go trough similar stuff as you did, struggles with the same issues. For me, that's why such a platform is useful.
I was a member there when they just got started and the idea back then was to make a HN for women and there were more women building stuff in the beginning, now the topics have drifted away from that. (Unfortunate, from my point of view, but maybe people like it more this way)
That's exactly what I hope too... Do you have experience with both platforms? what do you like or don't like about them?
I made this web app as a side-project (besides my main startup kosmosschool) and to learn coding! Hope this helps many founders to find an interesting side gig with great companies and helps them stay afloat with their startup for the time needed. Let me know what you think :)

Yay! I'll be there, we deserve this :)
My thoughts:
Concept: Really like the concept of lists, it's just a lot easier to get your thoughts out there in a list :D (especially as I'm too lazy to write blog posts!)
MVP: You're right, looks much better on mobile but I'm mostly going to use it on my phone anyways...
Hm, good question! Don't know, but I think they take almost everyone. I also got an invite but can't attend this year. I went last year and it wasn't that interesting because there were so many random people.
Dorena from Project Pegasus here :D Especially looking forward to applications from other female founders ;) and of course curious to hear what you think about Project Pegasus!!
