I'm in the inner sunset district near UCSF. Foggy but cheaper because of the fog. Excellent lite rail public transportation access to anywhere in the city. Mission district is more of an art community. Depends if you want to be near the GG park or pavement.

http://www.sonictalk.net/ I just signed up, loved their DSL service.
It's unclear to me the pain you are solving that has value and will pull money from my and thousands of others wallets. Clarify is this the problem???? ... for people who are too proud to directly say things to their family and close friends, or things that would embarrass or humiliate someone if you just told them. Who is the competition that has a revenue stream?

Pick something you dislike about something you consume, and imagine how you would fix it.

I love it! I was part of the "where in the world is Carmen" team. What a fantastic way to motivate kids in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Ask HN: Looking for input re Orrick Law Firm...

Hi. I attended an Orrick event a month ago. At the end of the seminar our CEO was pinged by a budding attorney to meet and has been in weekly meetings with Orrick ever since. There appears to be some promise of introducing us to investors, and "if only you had /this/, you'd be in a deal." I know nothing of Orrick's intentions or reputation and was hoping to get some input. Anyone know...

Truly helpful thank you. I was considering posting images of the GUI. What do you think?
Re:Open Graph protocol on Monday May 03, 2010 @08:09PM (#1316538)
...also, google's not going to take this lying down ;)

Why I say that... Open Graph is part of Facebook's strategy to use its 400M-user social network as leverage to take over indexing and navigation of the web, and serve ads with it.

Navigation of the web has been almost entirely Google's territory, because of Search (which also equals 90% of their revenue, from AdWords ads).

Therefore, Google has to counter Open Graph somehow...

I'm an advocate of keeping the team in the loop. However my business partner has some trepidations because his father's employees went mutiny by taking all his clients and starting their own recruiting firm.

I've been brainstorming a new app idea for helping create lifestyle health wellness changes - “pay for prevention”.

If anyone is interested in developing in this area connect up with me; I'd be interested in hearing from you.

We are a team of two and have some prototype code. donna (at) genuus (dot) com

Re:Ask HN: How would you invest $50,000? on Monday March 15, 2010 @02:37PM (#1193700)
I'd ask myself how much time I'd want to spend in growing the $50K. An angel requires time to help cultivate an idea. Do you have time?
Congratulations Trevor. Generous reflection you've shared. Much appreciated.
Re:When is a right time to start monetizing a web app? on Monday January 25, 2010 @11:59AM (#1075473)
My suggestion would be to introduce payment by 1) allow a set of usage free (e.g. up to 10 forms) 2) create individual small payments for each use (e.g. after cost 3¢ ea. initial start charge is $20 until $20 is used up) 3) offer monthly subscription based on unlimited usage

Treat it similar to the Virtual Goods model.
