"How We Decide" from John Lehrer
I agree, also what is the point of having a physical button if you can have it on the touch screen as long as you use the real estate in a clear way.
If you have many pages or folders, going directly first page will make start from scratch every time you hit the home button which for me very annoying. Say I am reading news from CNN app, when I close the app, I am expecting to see the news folder for BBC.
I am also curious about the situation when applying from Turkey, is it possible to apply with B1 visa? Are there any previous example of sth similar?
funny, when I came to San Francisco for Google I/O, the inspector didn't even care about the conferences, meetups that I will attend or my background (ongoing MSc), all he is interested in was whether am I planning to reunion with my girlfriend in States, why I buy a one way ticket, how much cash I have on me. One hint by the way, the inspector seems to be impressed by the book I was reading that time "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
Why starbucks, what is wrong w/ coffee?
-steep learning curve compared to rails, django, grails, etc
- lots of configuration (I mean a lot, no convention over configuration)
- application servers are not easy, tomcat can be a nightmare in term of rapid deployment/undeploy routines, just think about heroku on the other hand
Well, i don't see it as a problem. All I say is try to adapt to the current situation, don't try to impose rules on people so that your way of seeing things continue. If people prefer to watch movies at their home w/out paying for it, what the movie industry should do is to find other ways of making money, becuase bannign things is not going to work.
Maybe your app developer should seek other ways of getting money out of his app. Not for this specific case but "in app purchase" and ads in apps are two great ways of earning money.
Correct, but twitpic shouldn't try to stop others that provide tools for the data migration
Its my data. I should decide where to keeo it!
I start with one tab and continue with only one tab. Going previous page is permitted but openning a new tab is not. For instance yesterday I started with google's wikipedia entry and spend approximately 2 hours. Now i know who wrote lex
well, they are very valuable for me as this will the first time I hear about these in real (as in real world not from a computer screen), actually I will specificly come to SF for these type of events.
most of my friends tend to, maybe this is why I fail most of the courses and afterwards go to internet and learn about the topics on my time, just for fun
we have robo at Bilkent universtiy. it is again a very simple program that can draw shapes with is predefined syntax.
since your background is with Java, I suggest you to look Grails which has similiar features with Ruby on Rails and Django.
Colonizing moon before mars is not a perquisite. Although it can teach us how to cope with complex engineering problems, still I believe we have already have the capability to colonize mars.
nope, check put the ieee spectrum mars issue
I remember the years I spent in high school and college just to pass the courses. It was boring and useless. All the time I waited for the course to finish to that I can go to home and do whatever I wanted to do. What a waste of time.

I have a small problem ahead. Here is the very brief problem explanation. I am living in Turkey and just finished CS and accepted for the grad study and also I am accepted from one international company which offers a good salary and international team experience. But I am not sure any of these paths since I want to try my own way with a start-up. But things are harder then US or Europa I...
come on.. try to have fun! relax
simple, no tv in the room, wait for the season final of the series like lost, heroes, battlestar and get the whole season from torrent, watch them all non-stop : )
I have one 22 inch at home. During nights I can use this but at office hours (I mean normal day time) I should depend on laptop screen. I guess the optimal is 13.3 considering weight and screen resolution

RIFE of course. It handles login stuff and much more about authentication built in and also support uploading. Use RIFE/Crud. It takes less then 5 minutes. (it is a Java Framework by the way. rifers.org)
