Google’s AR software leader is out over the company’s ‘unstable commitment’
Why we chose Telegram for team-app over Slack, and then moved away from it
On 1 vs many,I think its totally reasonable to start with 1 given you are a small team. If you force yourself with high standard (which takes lots of extra person-hours), then you lose the key agility compared with other bigger players.
However, recently I updated my recording setup with a new platform. Now I have separate video tracks for each participant and recut doesn’t handle multiple videos. Will this be supported in the new release?
If Apple Maps had knew those backroards, they would probably output the same routes! :-D
The dilemma around open sourcing versus big (medium?) company taking advantages of such permissive licenses is more and more common these days. Look forward to a good way to resolve this.
This answers my question! One iPhone for each Beeper user, no wonder the $10 monthly fee!

> Here’s my guide for how to improve the Linux desktop experience: Distro, Battery life, Scaling, Mouse, CTRL Key, Shortcuts, Multitouch Gestures, Gifs and screenshots (peek and flameshot), Emoji Keyboard, Clipboard Manager, Password Manager, xournal
Tbh, at this point, I don't know why on earth I would switch away from Windows and macOS. Ya I know the stupid macOS things that Apple is doing. But hey, at least the scaling and mouse work out of the box!
Imagine repeat this process every year... as an international student.
On the other hand, all my credits card companies, Citi/Chase/etc. approved my similar requests after a review process.
News publishers ask Apple what can get them an App Store deal like Amazon's
My particular use case: - several workers process the data on the workers’ local threads - several workers serve as relays to interface with external third party services, hold all the necessary credentials, and conduct cron-like checking. - the ETL tool doesn’t directly provision these workers.
The second point is part of the reason why we don’t want to use Airflow’s k8s operator.
But it doesn’t seem like there is a better option in terms commonly used and robustness. So we are leaning towards write some custom operators and sensors to make Airflow more friendly to micro services.
Thought?
I guess another way to phrase my understanding is that: if your (possibly unattainable) career ambition is to reach CTO level, you should know that in the past, very rarely is that achieved with 2-year job jumping.
If your goal is to get steady compensation growth, probably job switching can give you that. And that is also probably what most of people should do anyways.
Take a step back. A more objective fact is that most CEOs/CTOs reached their positions not because they optimized the two-year role jumping. It's either from a long tenure with a company or from founding a successful startup and got acquired.
Very rarely can one reach VP level by simply jumping around. One's past loyalty becomes a non-trivial factor for positions at that level.
My 2 cents.
Today's news (the above link) shows a slightly differnet picture.
> "The Hey Email app is marketed as an email app on the App Store, but when users download your app, it does not work," Apple said in a letter to Basecamp CEO Jason Fried on Thursday. "Users cannot use the app to access email or perform any useful function until after they go to the Basecamp website for Hey Email and purchase a license to use the Hey Email app."
Basically Hey doesn't work as a standalone free app. The user has to download it AND subscribe somehow. Apple basically dictates, the developers either 1) offer some Reader-like free features, or 2) pay the Apple tax and build the subscription feature with IAP.
I am not saying the 30% tax is justifiable.
The logic behind Apple's rejection doesn't seem completely unreasonable to me.
