from what i see people want to boast about using it as it makes them seem like early AI adopters, and they find random use cases for the product, rather than the other way round
Re: on Wednesday March 04, 2026 @04:15AM (#47244993)
yea it's a tech news blog people are acting like it should be a peer reviewed journal or something.
Re: on Wednesday March 04, 2026 @04:12AM (#47244966)
why should ars technica have to publish grovelling apologies to satisfy their readers. it's not a tabloid.

and as it's obviously a HR issue both parties are restricted to what they can say, if they want to provide more details on their personal feeds and people are interested they can find out respectively.

Re:US Senate limits AI chip exports to China on Friday October 10, 2025 @07:10AM (#45537507)
The Senate action follows a Trump administration deal this summer with Nvidia and AMD to ease export restrictions to China.
Re:Making my own Bed Sensor on Tuesday December 19, 2023 @06:58PM (#38703704)
we've done projectd with kinect sensors for fall prevention in hospitals. one con is that many people are uneasy if there's a camera-looking sensor pointing at their bed.
Re:Tesla Recalls 2M Vehicles over Autopilot Software Issue on Wednesday December 13, 2023 @09:33PM (#38637100)
the fact that it can be easily modified OTA is a red flag enough that Tesla is pushing software out without the same level of testing hardware does. shipping a MVP in the hopes it doesn't' cause an accident isn't exactly best practice.
can't be that hard if he claimed he could finish it in 3-6months.
i think many are under no illusions that privacy laws are routinely breached by govt agencies/private enterprises.
also sun exposure is already one of the most potent UV radiation with anti-bacterial activity for the outdoors
there are many more beneficial bacteria in the environment than disease causing ones. wiping them all out may decrease some disease incidence but prob cause more issues like allergy/eczema etc.
Re:Germans among the unhappiest people in Europe on Tuesday December 12, 2023 @09:13PM (#38621818)

Re:E3 Is Officially Dead on Tuesday December 12, 2023 @09:11PM (#38621809)
it's hard for new gamers to get into a new game when developers are following the marvel universe concept where everything needs to have a backstory and you need to watch prequels/sequels to fully enjoy things. ultimately they are pandering only to their die-hard fans who will churn with time
the words "UK minister" and "sensible" has not been paired together for a while now
Re:Landlords Are 'Handing Back the Keys' with Offices 23% Empty on Tuesday December 12, 2023 @02:52PM (#38617473)
i think one of the problem is the value of commercial properties is directly linked to their rent. hence why so many would rather keep their property empty than negotiate down the rent as it would instantly devalue their property. they'd rather stay in their inflated bubble.
well how much returns did they expect when handing out multimillionaire dollar deals to D-list celebs and royals to ramble on about nothing.

and adding videos to podcasts? that's a lot of work to build the framework for something 99% of people did not ask for.

people use to admire the spotify "algorithm" whereas now their song recommendation is as average as a FM radio channel.

Re:Former Jaguars employee accused of stealing over $22M on Thursday December 07, 2023 @08:03PM (#38564078)

Re:Could long Covid 'brain fog' be an acquired form of ADHD? on Thursday December 07, 2023 @06:40PM (#38563338)
using the term neurodiversity/neurodivergent is a bit redundant and a fad.

why are people so surprised that non-robots are thinking differently? everyone are individuals and no two brains are the same. it sets the expectation that being homogenous is the standard and is the norm.

Re:Inside Malaysia's Chinese-built 'ghost city' on Thursday December 07, 2023 @06:31PM (#38563258)
with the housing bubble and cheap labour they have a massive oversupply of buildings. they have ghost malls even in the middle of the city.
Re:Photographer Makes Instant Film Camera Out of Gingerbread on Thursday December 07, 2023 @06:23PM (#38563198)
gingerbread is sturdier than those toy cardboard cameras. sustainable too
Re:He blew the whistle on Amazon. He's still paying the price on Thursday December 07, 2023 @04:17PM (#38561933)
idk the SEC whistleblower payout seems to be working for some.
they prefer to give industries the opportunity to increase their political donations and let the issue slide rather than take action to fix it.
Re:Switch off bad TV settings on Monday December 04, 2023 @08:49PM (#38525981)
yeh it's a shame my TVs work so fast when I first bought it but becomes noticeably laggy with each update
typical, they always want to be the exception to the rule
although indiscriminate long term aspiring can cause GI side effects
that's the price of capitalism
could've picked a better analogy that don't reinforce the fitness myth that fat "turns into" muscle.

fat is fat. muscle is muscle. one does not convert into another. it can be broken down into energy to be used but ultimately each cell starts from scratch.
