Implemented this a few years back by abstracting the upstream callbacks. You can mount pretty much any API endpoint as a filesystem with a bit of JavaScript glue. The FUSE layer is in Go: https://github.com/autovia/wfs
Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (January 2026) on Wednesday January 07, 2026 @01:07PM (#46530048)
Platform Engineer | Autovia GmbH | Germany

We do large-scale data processing and platform engineering for Automotive, Aerospace, and Manufacturing. Autovia is based in Munich (Bavaria) and all positions are full time and remote/hybrid.

We’re looking for platform engineers who are comfortable living in Linux and enjoy turning hard problems into simple solutions. You think carefully before pulling in a dependency, understand the real tradeoffs behind abstractions, and prefer knowing how things work over blindly trusting libraries. If you’ve ever deleted more code than you wrote, please contact us: https://autovia.de

Re:Ask HN: What (side) projects are you working on? on Wednesday November 05, 2014 @10:19AM (#8562135)
Problem: PGP isn't usable!

Now my grandma can send encrypted messages with https://encrypt.to

* Technology Rails, JS, HTML, CSS

* Statistics 1452 messages successfully delivered

Re:Ask HN: What are you building? on Friday September 12, 2014 @04:20AM (#8307065)
https://encrypt.to - Send encrypted messages by one click

It encrypts the message with PGP (client-side) and sends it on to the mail account. A user who does not use PGP can send fairly secure mails to PGP-users. A simple vanity-style URL can be given to such users for easy access to the secure contact form.

If privacy matters use http://owncloud.org same experience like Dropbox with desktop client. Or host your data under the german privacy law like https://owner.io 500 GB for $ 89 per month.

For non-technical friends you can use https://encrypt.to/
Re:What will it take to get people using PGP for email? on Sunday June 08, 2014 @11:34AM (#7864920)
As an interim solution you can setup a secure contact form on your company website like https://encrypt.herokuapp.com/ - it encrypts the message before sending it to you.

Try https://encrypt.to/ to send encrypted messages by one click :)
Re:Keybase.io on Friday February 14, 2014 @02:53AM (#7237459)
Interesting. Another approach is https://encrypt.to/ which loads the public key from key servers and encrypts client-side via JS.
Send encrypted PGP messages by one click:

Another free service with PGP support.
