No idea about the display scaling and included software, but SerenityOS has the same aesthetics IMO, could be worth checking out.

Interesting, that reminds me of what somebody did to display an always up-to-date clock [1].

As others have mentioned, it might be in the interest of browser vendors to get you to perform more web searches.

I don't know what browser you use, but personally I feel Firefox at least does a slightly better job than the competition at highlighting your bookmarks when you start typing in the search bar. Not sure if that is objectively true of course.

As I mentioned in another comment here, somebody gave a lightning talk about lsp-java [1] at Emacs Conf last year, which I thought looked promising.

lsp-java [1] might interest you. There was a lightning talk [2] about it at Emacs Conf 2019.

Re:Chrome exempts Google sites from user site data settings on Sunday October 18, 2020 @02:42PM (#24820112)
I was wondering about number 4. Does Chromium currently have the same behavior?
On that note, I noticed recently that Google search result links (on Firefox?) get rewritten. That is, you see the actual page URL when you hover over the link, but it's changed to their own redirect URL as soon as you click it.

I'm sure they've always been tracking these search result clicks, but I think this is a somewhat new behavior, and I find it highly deceiving.
