Yes - the announcement for the older i3 instances (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/now-available-i3-instances-...) claims 3.3M IOPS (presumably on the largest size, with 15.2TB) So it looks to me like these are larger, slower drives?
Jeff - are the disks slower (but bigger) than the i3 versions?

It looks like the IOPS and throughput are lower at the top end (looking at the two release pages).

Re:Why did we switch from Braintree to Stripe? on Friday August 11, 2017 @12:05PM (#14991150)
We just moved from Braintree to Stripe (they changed their relationship with Adyen and gave us ~ 6 weeks to re-sign with their new merchant provider or move away). We do all our recurring payments on Chargebee, so it was pretty painless when we eventually got the vaulted details securely moved out of Braintree.
Re:Ask HN: What do you use for recurring billing? on Friday March 31, 2017 @11:45AM (#14004949)
Yup, we've been using chargebee for about 4 years, can confirm they're great.

Fair enough. It is probably not a huge rewrite to give it a try.
I'm assuming it's not a straight swap for the `websocket` package? https://github.com/theturtle32/WebSocket-Node

Mongo does have document-level atomic update operators, such as $inc: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/operator/update/inc...

Yes, sounds like a good idea (if you have control of the DNS)
It would be interesting to see the current spot instance price plotted as well.

My OH is a Coeliac, so I did the only thing I could do in the situation... wrote an app to make life a little easier to find somewhere to eat out. http://www.coeliacmap.com https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.djch.foo... http://www.windowsphone.com/en-sg/store/app/coeliac-map/2a29...

The majority of the reviews (user submitted) are in the UK, but there's some data in the US.

Hopefully will be of use to someone on here!

Yes... pretty well - caught a few issues before they went out.

Dropping the data - this is just the raw unfiltered stream. We save the interesting process data elsewhere and then ditch the raw events.
