“No one is going to go to jail. ”

Normally I’d agree w/ you, but the folk in WV are super pissed

“How is a pharmacist supposed to know if an opioid is legitimate or not? ”

Any single prescription, there is no way.

But if your selling enough pain pills to give everyone in your county 10 daily doses, perhaps you should call the state attorney general.

Re:Court Filings Say Corporations Fed Opioid Epidemic on Saturday July 20, 2019 @12:26PM (#20486673)
When your county is devastated by opioids and your pharmacy sells more opioids than your entire state should be reasonably consuming [0] maybe alarms bells should ring.

[0] happened in WV

Not for the Treasury, who issues coins but not bills, but for the Fed. Every bill is a liability on the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet. Destroy the bill, destroy the liability. That the Fed doesn’t know you destroyed it [0] is irrelevant.

If you destroyed a coin that would be a “gift” to the Treasury, except the metal and cost of production to replace the coin might be larger than the worth of the coin (I.e. you destroy an old copper cent)

[0] dollar bills circulate like mad and are accounted for every time a bank gets a hold of them (often, due to vending machines, strippers, and diner waitresses). If a bill stops showing up, you can assign a high degree of probability that it will never show up again. Every one bill is probably long tailed, but money is fungible, so who cares if any one bill ends up re-appearing?

Big difference between a four and a 12 year old.

Or a creep. It’s not just drivers who make our cities bad.

Alcohol consumption has purposes other than mere intoxication. Likewise I wouldn’t execute a pharmacists who sells opium for legitimate reasons.

But sure, if you have an alcohol executive cutting their wine with methanol, pushing it to middle school kids and breaking interstate laws shipping laws to evade enforcement, like you did in prohibition... screw him.

Yes, the executives of big pharma are the first in line.

The Dr. and pharmacists who enabled the opioid crisis as well.

Japan is not tiny, and has a fraction of our drug use. They’re also brutal with drug crime.

I wouldn’t execute drug addicts. But their pushers? Line-em right up!

Would you let your four year old take public transit in NYC by himself? Because they do that in Japan.
If T is above body temperature anD there is high levels of humidity you can’t lower your temperature by sweating. Therefore, your body temperature will raise to match the environment T even if you don’t twitch a muscle.

On the other hand, if it’s dry the human body can sweat away prodigious amounts of heat
