Super elegant vision. Would love this to gain traction.

Ask HN: In 2022 how do you develop a simple CRUD app if you have few time?

I'm a director in a structure with thirty people and my job has nothing to do with dev. I've been developing large apps in my day job but today I'm looking to develop a simple web app connected to a few data sources like Airtable. I'm amazed of the complexity of today environments and what you need to learn to have something up and running. I've used MERN, RoR and other things but there's so...

Re:Apple building search engine to take on Google, report claims on Wednesday October 28, 2020 @08:45AM (#24918058)
They must already have some sort of index to power siri web search. I hope they find some space for disruption and create enough differenciation because I’m not sure at all that people value privacy enough to switch
Does the decentralized approach turn into a cost benefit compared to centralized solutions ?

How to make a crowd color vote with Their phones

How would you tackle this : - Having à Crowd of 600 sitting - let them chose à color on their phone (4 possibilités) - have people show their phones - take à picture of the audience and count the ColorsDoes it seem feasible ? Where would you start for the counting ?

Website = a couple of static pages + images + a few forms embeds running on airtable
At this stage I would focus on understanding What people really do and what happens after one month so they drop off by interviewing a lot of them
Features we wish we had: -1 tap interaction with native modal views (survey/actions) -in-app chat for support with automatic translations -send WhatsApp/Instagram/SMS -push notifications
Love the simplicity, would love to have an index of apps like this one : simple, well executed. Congrats

Need for entertainment and trends can be user problems. I would argue that Snapchat and the likes solve a user problem : boredom and need ton express without leaving trails...
Very cool, I couldn't find in the text what is the scale of the picture ?

Seen like that my reaction was a bit too simplistic :)

Just eat normally (fruits, vegetables, meat/fish from time to time, not too much bread...) for a long period of time and you'll get to your normal weight. All the rest is bullshit.
Re:Varnish 4.0.2 released on Thursday October 09, 2014 @10:43AM (#8432629)
I had to click three links to discover what Varnish is. So either I'm dumb or blind either there is no single description of what the product does on the home page copy.
Re:So, leboncoin.fr doesn't like my email alert webapp on Tuesday May 13, 2014 @05:09PM (#7740728)
Hello Bordeaux, Ici Rennes.

LeBonCoin spent like 2M€ in adwords the year they started. I've seen them grow like crazy. I really doubt someone can compete head to head with them today. That would need to be very disruptive or very niche.

Re:So, leboncoin.fr doesn't like my email alert webapp on Tuesday May 13, 2014 @05:07PM (#7740717)
Hi Johnathan, they deliberately don't want to provide email alerts or even a decent search because that would break their rather excellent business models (users spend hours browsing pages of listing rather than searching which drives page views and ads impressions). They killed a site similar to yours a few years ago (leboncoinrss or something along the lines I believe). I wouldn't try to base a business on something which hijack the user experience they have created. On my spare time I'm scrapping their site to do some data analysis and so far despite the traffic I generate no problem. Let me know if you want to discuss that.
Question : how did you get the salt and algorithm used ? By retro engineering the code ?
