Can you please explain this like I'm 5. I am still learning and I would like to understand how to do upgrades in a better way.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the project getting acquired by Akamai
I am not very experienced with VMs and containers.

Is this like Docker?

Re:Bitwarden second security audit report on Friday July 24, 2020 @06:04AM (#23937655)
I certainly need shared passwords. I will look at Bitwarden for Business. Thanks.
Re:Bitwarden second security audit report on Friday July 24, 2020 @05:58AM (#23937622)
It would be nice to allow access to only some passwords. And would be nice to be able to rotate passwords.

Which password manager(s) would you guys suggest for a team of 10-15?
Re:Lies, damn lies, and front-end tracking on Saturday July 18, 2020 @03:30AM (#23879729)
Ah! Thank you for pointing this out. You just cleared something up for me.

I use Firefox on my mobile and I always wondered why people keep complaining about Amp, since I never see it.

Your How it works and Pricing links are broken. Looks like a typo in domain name.
Re:GitHub was down on Monday June 29, 2020 @07:18AM (#23676461)
Thanks. I need something that can handle our hg repos.
Re:GitHub was down on Monday June 29, 2020 @06:38AM (#23676224)
I wish fossil had become more mainstream. It seemed such a cool tool when I tried it 8 to 9 years ago.
Re:GitHub was down on Monday June 29, 2020 @06:33AM (#23676202)
Has anyone here tried self hosting Phabricator?

Some of our private repos are Mercurial so it would be nice to have both git and hg repos on a single platform.

I do both.

Have a tenant_id column in every table.

This gives me flexibility to either host each client separately or club them together.

What managed DB would you suggest? I want to just try them out for learning purposes.
Re:Counterfeit books “shipped and sold by Amazon”? on Monday October 14, 2019 @06:03AM (#21246576)
To someone who is not well versed with these technologies, how do these solve this issue ? I would like to understand these technologies better

Ask HN: How do you manage a small team working on multiple projects?

It is a bit overwhelming to manage a small team working on multiple client projects. Currently we do not have a standard process or system (what we do now mostly resembles Waterfall). We tried to use a task management software but not very effectively.I would like to hear and learn from more experienced people who have either worked in or led such teams.

Re:Ask HN: What is the best non-tech book you read this year? on Friday November 23, 2018 @08:03AM (#18516135)
Thank you for your suggestions.

I have not read most of these. I am adding to my wishlist and will probably start with Austin Kleon's books, they seem very interesting

Paywall :(

Any way to read this without having to subscribe or register ?

Completely off topic, sorry.

How does having these new TLDs affect SEO ?

Re:Fossil – Next Generation on Tuesday November 21, 2017 @08:13PM (#15753354)
Before I started using mercurial and git I tried fossil for a few days. It was really good. I think the only reason my company decided to go with mercurial and git was the lack of a service like bitbucket or github for fossil.

I am really excited to see the new avatar of fossil.

Re:Uber Paid Hackers to Delete Stolen Data on 57M People on Tuesday November 21, 2017 @08:08PM (#15753324)
How should a startup or a company in this situation handle it properly ? Should they come out clean to their users ?
Thank you so much for the link. Really appreciate it.
Thank you. Seems like a nice approach.
This is a great summary. I have always liked the idea of GTD, it is just that it can be a bit overwhelming at times :(

Is there a GTD lite or something for beginners ?

Re:Naval Ravikant on Time [audio] on Thursday August 31, 2017 @01:37PM (#15142083)
Naval has such clarity of thoughts. How does one achieve this ? Is this something that can be learnt ?
