1st Point Yeah I read the blog post, he stated a position in support of it and articulated his reasons.

2nd Point What does if a presidential candidate is bald or not have to do with his/her capacity to run the country? What does Whole Food's CEO"s John Mackey position on health care have to do with buying groceries?

Your question implies a lack of understanding of the motivations and impulses that drive consumers to take actions such as voting and purchasing products.

My questioning of the value of putting and linking such rhetoric with a product or company represents an understanding of impact of the overall messaging around a product/brand that can very far removed from the core value/solution a product/brand/person is delivering.

You make some political sensitive comments on your personal blog linked directly from your product site (affirmative action). I personally would not buy from you having read those as I disagree with your position.

It seems like putting out stuff like that while your trying to build a brand is risky, while some/many of your target may agree, I can see some not e.g. Libertarian types who believe in self reliance i.e. your own garden, but not affirmative action.

Up to you, personally I think why take the risk?

I'm suspect there will be a drop off - all though this app target is cyclical so new consumers appear 2X a year.
also please bear in mind thia app has a brand and company behind it with lots of market share in its niche allready through other products other than iphone, so lots of avenues to generate awareness of the app through other channels including facebook.
well big day was friday which took in over 5K in 24hrs that got us in top 30 highest grossing apps for a while

working a mid-zed company who releases apps often, I've seen the approval process drop dramatically to around 5 biz days or less
Anyone able to ballpark how much the founders would clear from this deal?

Best mobile/tech conferences/events in 2010?

I have the opportunity to go to a few events next year around mobile/tech. What are the best mobile/tech conferences/events coming up in 2010 - looking at USA focused but can be global event if really good. Anything marketing related would be a plus - but not a necessity. Thanks!

Thanks Wallflower, yes I was hesitant about making that comment - I did research previous comments but not as far back as you did - I do think it's important to question authenticity of a comment esp. when it's a PRETAY big claim like above. If it's true - good luck to JimmeyL - if it's not he still seems to add a lot of value here with his comments.
Previous comments from JimmyL :

"I work in a moderately-progressive workplace, and if I ever need to seek the input of a supervisor on a big issue/something that may come back to haunt me, I'll talk to them about it, and then send them an email saying what we decided. This makes it clear what the decisions was (and more importantly, how I interpret it) and provides documentation to both sides that the issue was discussed and a conclusion reached."

"When I know I am wrapping up a coding session, I'll often leave a few trivial things unfinished - so that when I sit back down again for the next session, I'll have an easy place to jump right back in, and it will force me to (consciously or otherwise) get back to somewhere near the mental state I was in when I half-finished the thing."

Are you really as important as you make out?

I saw this comment on the WSJ - *

This is an intriguing idea, but the problem I see is that airlines will not rebook you (fee-free, at least) until their own internal procedures have declared a delay or cancellation of a flight. By that point having the intel becomes useless.

Seems like a good point
