This alone is worth trying the Desktop app

I'm sure I'll get bored once the novelty wears off

I'm already a happy user of herdr CLI (or whatever it is called. I use it from Ghostty)

> several poor security mistakes

I heard it from someone as well, but I cannot find the link or specific details.

Can someone summarise what are the security issues related to using opencode?

Do these issues still exist, especially in V2 ?

From recent Python Bytes podcast (https://pythonbytes.fm/episodes/show/496/a-lake-house-in-sea...)

> 1 Billion Row Challenge benchmark: Pandas took 4m28s vs. Polars 5.04s and DuckDB 5.19s — DuckDB also used 19x less memory

Python Vs Rust : In terms for speed - No comparison

Re:Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md on Saturday September 19, 2026 @12:51PM (#49768105)
Genuine question: Does the Agent harness matter ? I mean why use Claude CLI ?

(As I mentioned elsewhere) I use oh-my-pi (and opencode, and toad) but use (client paid) Opus 5 with these harnesses.

All three of these understand AGENTS.md

Re:Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md on Saturday September 19, 2026 @12:47PM (#49768067)
Do you mean oh-my-pi (omp) (https://github.com/can1357/oh-my-pi/)

I also use the same. But I use Anthropic models (Opus 5) with it.

Re:Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md on Saturday September 19, 2026 @12:42PM (#49768020)
symlink CLAUDE.md to AGENTS.md

You can change language from the top right-most dropdown, and select English
I did a similar workshop between Feb-April (1 hour zoom call on Wednesday, 3 hour hands-on in person every week)

Most of the participants has Windows laptop. (Except one with Mac)

We had suggested Linux on WSL2 and VSCode. (`uv` for python package management)

But realized that we were spending a LOT of time fighting the tools/combination. WSL2 + Windows filesystem + uv did not work well together.

For person with macOS - it was smooth sailing

If I do another batch, we'll use native `pip` and python (not uv) and I think then we won't need WSL2

Re:LM Studio 0.4.0 on Friday January 30, 2026 @03:46AM (#46821999)
Does this version support only M-Series mac ? Download page (https://lmstudio.ai/download) shows only `M Series` in the running dropdown
Bots/LLMs don't care if you ban and ridicule them in public.
I have faced "O365 required re-authentication every 24h or so" in my previous job.

It was irritating.

I just assumed it was "IT policy" and accepted the inconvinience.

I am assuming that the second password is like decryption key. I have saved the second password as "mailbox password"

The way I interpreted is that first password is for the account, so verify I am who I say I am. But since the emails are encrypted, browser can't show my messages in human-readable form. Second/mailbox password decrypts it and shows the emails in human readable format.

This is just a guess.

I would love to hear about second password from other/more knowlegeable folks.

If bad keys are the only problem with X1, why not buy external/wireless keyboard ?

Intern I work with, got something working, but was not saved anywhere. No git No email to others in the project (That is how they work)

He complained to me that he "could not find it in ChatGPT history as well"

I think @alexmolas was lucky

Re:Ask HN: Do you still use Search Engines? on Wednesday April 09, 2025 @01:48AM (#43629246)
Agree 100% I tried perplexity to "search" My use case was similar to one described above.

I know what I'm looking for. I just need exact URL.

Perplexity miserably fails at this.

Re:Show HN: LinkedIn sucks, so I built a better one on Monday March 24, 2025 @08:49AM (#43460463)
Anyone remember polywork.com ?

Their tagline was "Your professional network"

They closed in early 2025

LinkedIn may suck.

Let me retract that.

It definitely sucks (For me - it sucks because of non-professional posts in the feed. memes, political rants, funny pics etc.)

But there are good parts as well.

The most important thing going on for them is they have network effect.

Everyone (and their grandma, as they say) is on LinkedIn

When I was interviewing, I used to check the LinkedIn profile for the candidate as well. (Lot of times, after the interview in case I had good things to say in my feedback form)

Having said that - Best wishes to OpenSpot.

"Devices and Sync" are "Coming soon"

I assume once that feature is available, account (thus Sign up) would become necessary.

I wish that feature is opt-in, so "No Sign Up" can remain available for those who do not need that feature.

When you read statements like [^1] "I did the other trick: you take your non-Rust job and make it a Rust job." from the likes of Luca Palmieri - what do you expect ?

I don't blame them. If they were able to convince their manager to re-write python scripts in rust, good for them. They got "on the job/real life" rust experience. They solved the "chicken and the egg" problem in rust hiring - for themselves.

when companies can fire engineers when they are in trouble, engineers are bound to "think for themselves"

Does Zen have (or plan to build) Auto Archive feature like Arc ? https://resources.arc.net/hc/en-us/articles/19228855311127-A...

I couldn't find any Firefox extension that does this (Or maybe I didn't look hard enough)

This is the one feature that brought me to Arc

(I've since stopped using Arc, and moved to Vivaldi. My "main" browser is still Firefox)

Re:Arvind Mithal has died on Wednesday June 19, 2024 @01:41PM (#40730560)
My colleague had FNU on his US visa (and hence on his driving license as well) https://citizenpath.com/faq/fnu-first-name-unknown/

So it was like FNU Raj (if his name was Raj - it wasn't)

Another +1 for Wezterm. I also tried Alacritty in past, but felt it too basic. Kitty was better. TBH, not sure why I left that for Wezterm. But for now, I've settled and have no intention to change.

FWIW I use Wezterm with Zellij

The article starts with:

"Update 27 January 2020: News reports state that India's government has restored Internet access to the Kashmir region"

RESTORED (albeit partially)

Re:Ask HN: How did you build up your personal knowledge base? on Thursday October 24, 2019 @03:47AM (#21342525)
"was" - so I assume it is now resolved ?

I use it myself, and file is "overwritten" when saved. (as expected)

I have local file that I open in firefox, and edit. Every so often I commit it to git.

If you open from non-local URL - it can not be "saved" - which is what you may have encountered ?

Ask HN: How to gain experience building large scale apps?

My resume was recently rejected because I do not have experience building "large scale apps" that serve millions of users.I have over two decades of experience, but mostly in startups/small-ish companies. Thus most of the times I got to work on "new" projects.Startups always want MVP that can be shipped/released early, so the "growth" is always iterative. Most of the times, the product was...

Or

companies won't "mandate" commute (at least for the type of work that can be done remotely)

I assume you were downvoted thinking you are "marketing" your app "without context", like SPAM

Don't be discouraged. I checked out your site (and github) Looks nice. I'll use the tool next time I need remote collaboration

Keep up the good work.
