Re:Ask HN: As a graduating senior, how did you get into startups?
on Thursday September 20, 2012 @04:53PM (#4550618)
For me (recently graduated in May, in a very similar boat as you), it came down to networking and getting noticed. I attended StartupWeekend/3DayStartup/hackathon events around my town and university. That put me in touch with a lot of relevant people who could give me intros and referrals to startups I was interested in. Also note that many of the sponsors of hackathons done at universities are often from tech hubs like SV/NYC.
I also threw my resume into startup application aggregators such as engineerapplication.com, nycstartu.ps, hackruiter.com, and angel.co/talent. Each of those sites got me 2-3 conversations each.
Once you meet one or two people in your tech hub of choice, it'll be easy to get introduced to many more.

Hey sunspeck, I've relaunched the app as MonkeyV. Play with it here: www.monkeyv.com. I've included the feature you requested that allows you to shrink to fit and click to expand on the image view page. Enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback! A toggle for shrink-to-fit/click-to-expand is definitely worth adding.

Ah ok, it appears then ScreenBin differentiates from CloudApp because it doesn't require any installing/downloading of an app to utilize. It's completely in browser.

I don't think you can ctrl+V (paste) screenshots into those. This app allows you to do just that for screenshots. It's not really for file sharing.

The designer on my dev team has demanded this for a couple of weeks, and I only recently found the time to make it at a...
