A FOSS TUI for Obsidian-like markdown Vaults, using interactiong metaphors of old DOS software. Especially inspired by Wordperfect 6 and Norton Commander.

This is really interesting. I have been making my own "instant cola" with several large dashes of angostura bitters and a can of seltzer in a pint glass. The liquid should be very pink/orange. and, if I want sweetness a drop of liquid sucralose sweetner is all I need, just sweet enough for me without aftertaste. This mix scratches my cola itch very well and can be made in about 20 seconds.
Re:Show HN: macOS native DAW with Git branching model on Tuesday January 20, 2026 @08:04PM (#46699916)
I'm a voice actor, and I live in Reaper -- it's my "IDE" as it were. I like the idea of the git branching metaphor. Would you say that your DAW is primarily for musicians, or for more general purpose recording (i.e. a voice actors workflow)
Great! I'm super interested. I've been solving this kind of thing with a handful of those cheap mp3 players hooked up to my home stereo, each one acting like it's own "radio station". Having something that works on the go would be excellent!
Cool idea. Got a writeup of how you did it? Is this serving local mp3s or something?

> Some people call this "the agentic loop." Call it what you want, you can write it in 100 lines of Python

That description sounds a lot like PocketFlow, an AI/LLM development framework based on a loop that's about 100 lines of python:

(I'm not at all affiliated with Pocket Flow, I just recall watching a demo of it)

Bugs Bunny? That's Wile E. Coyote!
Is over by $500k, not short.
This is cool service! I had an idea for some features to suggest: Primarily a "Surprise Me" option that randomized the color and angle to help me envision new options.

Thanks to your excellent URL scheme I could have Claude create a quick artifact to see how it would work.

Tangential, but related: Hyperfocal distance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperfocal_distance
This is the right answer. The fact that you might know an outer clue helps you when the inner clue is a stumper!

Pretty good! I lost. I knew I would. I was on the AI's side.

OT, but whoa... Digg. There is a name from the past.
Re:Scheduled Tasks in ChatGPT on Wednesday January 15, 2025 @04:25PM (#42717261)
It took me a minute to find it. It's a different model -- pull down the models list and you might see one with tasks.
Hey there /u/blacktechnology, could you email me a few seconds of your voice so I can upload it to this site and see how the cloning goes? I'd love to see what I could do with a copy of your voice. Kthxbye.
Is the "bounce back and forth mode" supposed to be inconsistent when bouncing off each edge? Bouncing one way appears to add an extra note, when the pattern is resetting.

If you cross your eyes and look at the routes as if it were a single stereoscopic image overlaying one route on top of each other, the misplaced hold jumps out at you immediately.
This is cool I never really contemplated how frequently there are strikes across the globe.

Is there / Could there be a random number generator based on lighting strikes?

preach.
>Finally, breathe a little. We have some time, probably. The world won't change overnight.

Tell that to all the artists, desginers, editors, copywriters, voice actors, customer support folks, and on and on...

There are many, many people facing real existential threats, with no clear path to what to reskill towards.

Glad we could all spend years creating that juicy AI training content so Reddit can get paid! /s

Also possible: your taste preferences changed over time. I know mine have.

So, its Apr 2023 and not Dec 2023?

How would we know its telling the truth?
I'm a one-person-shop and I use Zoho Expense to create expense reports. This happens to integrate directly with my bookeeping system (also from Zoho).
On most of my old android phones you just needed an app (Next Radio iirc) and wired headphones to listen to the radio.
