We just launched https://WhatsCode.app, a new way to build software using only WhatsApp.

No IDEs, no logins, no setup. Just send a message like /build portfolio site or /make a blog … and get working, deployable code instantly — powered by AI (Claude Code or Gemini CLI under the hood).

Built for first-time devs, creators, and small businesses in WhatsApp-first countries like India, where WhatsApp is the internet.

We're also experimenting with monetization via domains, hosting, and premium templates.

Would love feedback from the HN community — especially on:

Use cases you think this could unlock

Limitations or risks we haven’t thought of

What you'd build with it

Site: https://WhatsCode.app Happy to answer any questions!

I'm Deepak Ravindran, founder of KiranaPro, a quick commerce startup in India serving thousands of small retailers and consumers. Last week, we were the victims of a devastating and deeply targeted cyberattack.

Our private GitHub repo (connected to our AWS infra) was compromised. The attacker deleted our core application code and simultaneously used those credentials to wipe out our AWS EC2 servers and backups.

Here’s why I’m writing to you all:

GitHub support has been slow to respond with critical data like access logs and IP trace timestamps.

We're seeking help from anyone who’s previously worked with GitHub on escalated cases or has contacts inside GitHub who can accelerate traceability and security logs before the trail goes cold.

We’ve filed an FIR (Indian cybercrime complaint) and have a legal case in motion, but GitHub cooperation is key to identifying the actor behind this.

We’re transparent about this because it’s not just about us — this is a broader threat to small startups depending on centralized infrastructure. If you can introduce us to someone at GitHub security or help escalate this internally, please reach out: [email protected] @deepakravindran on Twitter

I never imagined I’d write something like this here, but I know the strength of this community. Thanks in advance — we’ll pay it forward.

— Deepak

We imagine that an AI partner can further helps you with brainstorming ideas, is good with tech, helps you to structure your business, helps you with automation of the work , has tools for different skills like lead generation marketing etc. Most important can identify what's right and wrong with your process and provide the optimal feedback to it.

What else should we add in the roadmap? Open to any support or advice, thanks!

Re:Michael Seibel, CEO of YC, is doing an AMA on Friday March 17, 2017 @01:56PM (#13896251)
How important is founder/product fit for successfully applying for YC? If a founder is doing something totally outside of his domain expertise/experience, how can he still pursue it?
the whole internet and social media in general is getting polluted because of this.
"Ministry of Truth." Love it! :)
Agree with your point on how people fall for it - but the most important thing we are trying to solve here are the actual credible facts - and not opinions of those facts. :)
Thanks. Yes, the incentives should be based on building yourself a credible profile on the internet - like a trust button. A lot of community-based websites including Reddit, Jelly and others are moving in this direction but the challenge is how fast a community can move and how they can stop it in other networks such as facebook and whatsapp where this spread.
The route of community building is interesting and I can see many people following that. If you see the latest development at Biz Stone's Jelly, their vision is to make a trust score on users and build credibility. The challenge is how quick a community can respond. Fake news is growing like the snowball effect the more it spread on the social media the more it becomes a problem. We need to put a filter before we share the news inside our network - like a verified posting :)
Our initial try was that by building a Chrome plugin called 'fakeornot' which will just tell you if its a fake site or not. But this was not working accurately as we saw sites like Mashable and others write articles which are not even verified and they quote to a source.

If you were asked to solve the 'fake news' problem, how would you solve it?

I am working on a new idea Shrimp ( domain shri.mp), and our mission is to fix the fake news problem. We have nailed down the user experience in three directions. I would love your thoughts on these three ideas - 1)Build a secure browser so that it can work across the web and mobile devices which will automatically sync up with an online database of all the fake news articles, so whenever...
