Nice. QBASIC FOR i = 1 to 5: PRINT i: NEXT hung up after 4. The shift key didn't work in the Qbasic Editor.
DuckDB for integration tasks.
This post is bringing out the MS haters and most don't know what they're talking about. MS took the initial lead in AI and it shows in their products. It was Google that was left in the starting blocks but they have thankfully recovered. Competition is good for all.
Switch to contract work or find a job with flexible at home hours.
For me Pascal was an awesome language in the 1980s. Oracle PL/SQL reminds me of it.
AI prompt engineering, machine learning, etc.
It is loaded with propaganda right now.
No one is wasting money. These audits must be done. I do think however that the chances of anyone over 115, or deceased, collecting money is extremely low.
Keep in mind that 50 contracting companies post the same position. You can tell from the wording.
Thanks for posting! I too was going to post because he cofounded Wikipedia.
It's a shame this company didn't survive.
I occasionally sell CLI tools for file conversion at convertcsv.com. This is driven by customer concerns about security and privacy.
For fun, I made a Javascript library that implements most of the Date and String functions found in various SQL dialects. We have the home page
https://www.ddginc-usa.com//dbFunctions.htm and a Playground for play and Documentation. I posted this on Show HN about a week ago and received minimal response.
We also have the "Continuing Education" racket.
Definitely has lowered the entry cost.

I've always liked SQL date and string functions so I made a library for Javascript with most of your favorite databases' Date and String functions. There is also a Playground to try each function and see the documentation.
I've never seen a database with FKs that I regretted were there but plenty without FKs that caused issues. Also - generally make sure you index your FKs.
Definitely not a "useless toy" with the right use case. It's great at code snippets, scripts, etc. It's an assistant.
I can identify with having a GREAT Christmas associated with a new computer. In my case, the same year, 1981, and a Radio Shack Color Computer, 16K Ram.
I remember those times well, particularly all the clones - i.e. Foxpro. Dbase was a great idea but I sure hated the language used. Paradox and Access were clearly superior.
The "official" JSON should be enhanced to cover a few of the pain points.
