Re:Sled is Claude Code on your mobile with voice on Monday January 19, 2026 @11:23AM (#46680784)
We (layercode.com) built the voice enabled coding CLI we've always wanted: https://github.com/layercodedev/sled

sled.layercode.com is an open source web UI to Claude Codex, Codex, Gemini CLI that you run on your machine. It has a responsive UI, so you can access your coding agent from your mobile (and do this from anywhere if you securely expose your machine with Tailscale or similar).

Voice mode automatically transcribes your speech, and allows the agent to speak its responses back in a range of voices. Voice mode is provided by a free (rate limited for individual use cases) voice API hosted by us (layercode.com). We don't store any conversations or other user data. The voice API is hosted on Cloudflare. Voice mode can be disabled if you want to keep all conversations local.

We use Zed's great ACP https://agentclientprotocol.com to communicate with your local coding agent processes.

Enjoy coding from anywhere!

Founder of https://usescraper.com here. Thanks for the mention jot. We've also got a single URL scraping option https://docs.usescraper.com/api-reference/scraper/scrape now which is $0.001 per page, and uses a headless chrome browser. Results are snappy and you only pay for what you use.
Unfortunately it's not really viable to sent a counter msg for every msg which goes through the system ;) Our stats and logging has to be somewhat delayed.

Pusher - http://pusher.com

We believe WebSocket communication is going to evolve the way the web works. Our aim is to be the first port of call for developers looking to build realtime functionality.

If you share our enthusiasm for the realtime web, want to be part of this grand ideal, and can abide our continued over-use of the word “awesome”, drop us a line.

We need developers and ops peeps to work on making the Pusher platform more awesome, and more scalable. Previous experience with distributed systems is essential, whether it be Ruby, Node.js or Erlang.

We’re still a smallish team (7 in total) and there are great opportunities for having an influence in something really exciting. We’re based in London (EC1), and we’re looking for people who can work on site with us.

+1 for swing, much more about the fun of the dancing, less serious about getting the technique exactly right, and you fit it to all kinds of music.

Re:Panda - Open source video encoding in the cloud on Friday April 23, 2010 @01:46PM (#1288866)
During the beta we're focused on the dedicated encoders side of things. For people with a large volume of videos this can provide huge savings. We are aware that the base plan we currently have may be too high for some, and we are looking into smaller shared encoder plans.
Re:Panda - Open source video encoding in the cloud on Friday April 23, 2010 @12:58PM (#1288661)
Hey, I'm Damien the co-founder of Panda. We've made the integration easy (if not easier!) than other services out there, for example you can have your users upload video directly to your Panda account instead of via your app. We also don't charge you per video or GB so you can encode as many videos you like on your dedicated encoders.

If you give the service a spin we'd love to hear your thoughts.

Re:Pusher - Realtime client push service powered by websockets on Wednesday March 24, 2010 @05:25PM (#1216933)
When we're out of beta we will be offering several plans, probably limiting the max clients. There will always be a free plan though :)
Re:Pusher - Realtime client push service powered by websockets on Wednesday March 24, 2010 @05:23PM (#1216926)
It depends on the type of app you're building. We built Pusher to complement existing AJAX workflows and make adding collaboration easy. There's lots more you can do with it though.

A JSON event-based convention for WebSockets

http://blog.new-bamboo.co.uk/2010/2/10/json-event-based-convention-websockets

HTML5 WebSockets give you a persistent connection between server and browser which you can use to send text data back and forth. Here we explore an event-centric message format on top of WebSockets to ease the development of Javascript Real Time Applications.

Re:Ask HN: improving your design skills? on Friday February 05, 2010 @10:08AM (#1103666)
Learn by example, just like you read someone else's code to learn a lang or framework, find sites that you like e.g. from http://www.designmeltdown.com/

Open a few up in the background, fire up photoshop and start getting inspired by the layouts and themes around you. Once you've done this a bit you'll find you suddenly have a much larger vocabulary of design elements to pull from.
