One of the things that is not working is the Cellular.

Isn't have a cell phone that does not work on a cellular network kind of like having a watch that does not tell time?

Re:Jev in 25 Lines of Python on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @11:25AM (#49817560)
This is a system two model, and not a system one. To get the performance of Jev, and you want to run locally, use Laya. It is up on Hugging Face.

A16z funds small tech. This includes companies that do Crypto and AI. You may not like it, but these are products and services that consumers want to use.

"You can have state of art Healthcare, or you can have Universal healthcare, you can't have both." -- Malcolm Gladwell

The way that universal health coverage saves money is by rationing care. You do not save lives when you ration care.

This probably explains why I saw the Ghost from Pacman trying to eat my plane when I was making that ILS approach for runway 32 Right.

Any Vic 20 users?
None of the best minds in AI Research are from the United States. We would not be were we are without the work of foreign scientists. There are more STEM students in China than we have students in the United States, and those universities don't give out automatic As like we do here in the United States.
I hate to burst the New Scientist's bubble, but this is nothing new. We have had systems for decades that operated under "Fire and Forget". We have missles that either go to a pre-designated point or chase a heat or radar signature once they are fired.

Human soldiers kill civilians and other soldiers on the same side. It is called "friendly fire". It is horrible, and should be avoided, but humans are more likely to make this kind of mistake more than a computer or AI model.

Re:Cuba says it has run out of fuel, blames U.S. embargo on Thursday May 14, 2026 @02:12PM (#48139047)
Here are some facts about Cuba and oil. The Cuban government was getting free oil from Venezuella. That ended on Jan. 3rd. Cuba was taking that oil, and reselling most of it on the open oil market. Cuba also has their own oil wells, so they can produce oil if they need it. Cuba was also having power outages prior to Jan 3rd.

Cuba also used to have the best economony in the Caribbean prior to 1959 when the Castro's took over. They switched from a free market ecomony to a state run socialist economy.

Hmm, Wired Magazine. Isn't this the same publication that said that Firewalls were bad?
Ah, Choo Choo trains
Wow, it sounds like they are becomming a bunch of commies.

The new slogan for the global elite flying into Davos next year will be "Sweat, eat bugs, own nothing and enjoy it."

I guess Bill Gates has a virus.
I guess they got a 404
The countries of the EU need to ask themselves why these software unicorns are not starting in their countries. Why do so many European entrepeneurs come to the United States to start their businesses?

The EU has a tendency to regulate business before they ever get started. They might want to look at their regulatory structure so companies like Zoom start in the EU, and not in United States.

Apple will be releasing OS updates for most of their mobile devices pretty soon. There is a change that has ruffled the features of a lot of people in the online advertising industry.

The issue revolves around an API that Apple has for iOS called the Advertising Identifier, or IDFA for short.

I am not sure what good it will do to join a Union if you can't collectively bargain. You would essentially be paying dues out of your salary, and not getting anything in return. If you don't like Google, then quit.
