Re:Exploring Apple's 3D Touch on Monday October 12, 2015 @07:17AM (#10373763)
On my Android phone, at least, this can already be achieved with a double-tap of sorts.
Re:The average Bugatti owner has 84 cars, 3 jets and one yacht on Tuesday October 07, 2014 @06:52PM (#8424443)
Is that an actual figure or just a tongue-in-cheek quote from the CEO?
Re:Sile, a typesetting system inspired by TeX and InDesign on Wednesday October 01, 2014 @05:13AM (#8393464)
Some sample inputs–outputs would be great.
Re:P5.js: Processing for today’s web on Thursday August 07, 2014 @09:34AM (#8147594)
This seems to be more a criticism of Khan Academy's live Processing editor.
The negative letter spacing is a little jarring imo.
Re:The simple genius of Flappy Bird on Wednesday February 26, 2014 @09:18AM (#7305002)
The mechanic is different.
Re:Show HN: Random Street View on Monday January 27, 2014 @10:33AM (#7130792)
Re:C-- on Sunday October 27, 2013 @10:11AM (#6621983)
Is the 'minus minus' being converted into a dash throughout?
Re:Why I'll never take a normal cab again on Monday August 19, 2013 @05:03AM (#6236251)
Was half expecting Joe to roll the car into a ditch the way that first story was going
Re:Trinity College experiment succeeds after 69 years on Thursday July 18, 2013 @12:48PM (#6064798)
It's still running!
Re:“Dihydrogen monoxide” joke gets DJs suspended on Sunday April 07, 2013 @08:43AM (#5507022)
H twenty?
Re:An App That Moves Sports Fans to Better Seats on Friday March 29, 2013 @11:21AM (#5461162)
Would it be so bad to just enter your seat number into the app?
Re:How Google Sliced Away Our Knife Ads on Monday March 25, 2013 @03:51PM (#5439283)
> We’d also been careful to not ever violate Google’s Adwords weapons policy, which prohibits “the promotion of knives, such as butterfly knives, (balisongs) and switchblades.”

Sounds like they were promoting knives, and hence violating the policy.

Re:Chart.js is back online on Tuesday March 19, 2013 @02:07PM (#5402546)
For comparing two portions they’re okay. For larger data sets it can be difficult to compare the sectors: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b4/Pie...
Re:Hack: Typography on Monday February 25, 2013 @11:18AM (#5279647)
I don't think there's much actual science behind the purported aesthetic properties of the golden ratio.
Re:Smoothing Jagged Edges on an Image in GIMP on Saturday February 02, 2013 @08:47PM (#5158182)
Always mask rather than deleting if possible!
Re:Why Linux is better on Friday January 18, 2013 @10:01AM (#5078915)
The IM section was egregious too. How can they tout "Pidgin, the instant messenger for Linux (it exists for Windows as well, and for Mac OS X)" as an advantage of Linux?
according to one person.
Re:Show HN: Hush, an "incognito mode for Facebook" on Wednesday October 31, 2012 @08:10AM (#4722401)
Did you just make two separate comments praising this, both within two minutes of registering?
Re:Stack Overflow's Original 99designs Logo Contest on Sunday October 28, 2012 @10:02PM (#4710734)
Wow — they paid $1.70 per design. Were sites like 99designs as taboo then as they seem to be now?
Re:New Monte Carlo Simulation tool (Knockout.js) on Sunday October 28, 2012 @06:00PM (#4710128)
This is nice. I think it should tell you the number of trials though, as well as sanitising the JS somehow. I just tested it using the function:

  eval(document.write("hello world!"))
and it gave me a page of text.
Re:Programming and Report Designer - Maximum Age: 40 on Monday October 15, 2012 @06:33PM (#4657470)
Do you really want to be doing this when you're 50?
Re:For crisp edges, use anything but crispEdges on Thursday September 27, 2012 @04:49PM (#4582813)
The crispEdges circle doesn't look good – but it's certainly not “blurry”.
The second one was a hoax.
I think his statement was more light-hearted than interpreted here.
Re:Pareidoloop: Faces generated at random on Friday July 20, 2012 @11:51AM (#4271316)
Sounds like a very convoluted way of generating random faces.
Re:Super-resolution from a single image on Friday July 13, 2012 @07:47PM (#4242540)
The central pixel in the O is a lighter grey than its four nearest neighbours. That alone could be a reasonable cue for the 'hole', without cues from larger characters.
Re:Why the Higgs Boson Discovery Is Disappointing on Thursday July 05, 2012 @06:32PM (#4205337)
He certainly knows how to market himself.
