Re:I Returned My iPhone Duo on Friday October 30, 2026 @06:09AM (#50301873)
What apps actually do this though? The latest sdk automatically resizes really well without the developer having to do anything.

If there is an app thay still has the zoom button its extreamly outdated

Terrible for whom? Not surprising he thinks this for buisness reasons I guess, but to say it out loud?
Re:Ask HN: We tax labour, why not tax AI? on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @05:54PM (#50281478)
Is labor and ai even a meaningful equivalence? I think not.

Do you mean like humanoid?

A actual tax on humanoids performing human jobs could just be seen as a speed limiter, and, I'm pretty sure that goes directly against everyones goals and the best interest of anyone in that position

Cool idea but andBible allows you to connect a wide range of providers including local models.

https://andbible.org/docs/ai/

What's the main thing you feel is chargeable here?

I opened up the simulator on my app yesterday thinking it probably needed updates to get ahead of it.

To my surprise it worked automatically on the duo with no adjustments.

I think if you made an app recently in swift, and everything worked on iPhone and iPad already, it may be properly resized already, similar to how android handles scaling automatically.

This is awesome. Your connecting everything to everything
Re:No Signs of AI Payoff Outside the Tech Sector on Saturday October 24, 2026 @04:37PM (#50224987)
My sector used it to make all the tools we wanted, then put it back in its box awhile ago. Just enjoying the fruits rent free.
Re:When Do We Become the Person We Ought to Be? on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @09:05PM (#50189822)
Makes sense, believers are on a journey of sanctification. The first battle is won when your soul is saved. The second battle is a lifelong struggle between the flesh and the spirit.

They are in constant opposition.

Not sure but they make sense in proximity to ctrl (at least on a US layout). and further, the characters make sense. X looks like scissors in open position, c for copy, v as a carrot pointing where you want stuff...z is in the shape of putting somthing back from a slice of memory if you stretch your imagination.
Re:Why I Wrote PGP (1991, revised 1999) on Thursday October 15, 2026 @05:16PM (#50110394)
The sender has to encrypt with everyones individual key wonder why he couldn't get it to work.

Re:Tiny Little Office on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @06:24PM (#50096314)
I like stuff like this. Have you considered real time collaboration? Your not to far off from this with something like web sockets.

Edit: realized it looks like the data is stored in the url, which is a neat approach but I guess its not really that close.

Re:The Carpenter on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @02:49AM (#50083416)
Consider that this magical machine has already been created for the carpenter in reality.

There are prefab cabinets, finished plywood, millwork. The magical machine makes these products as close to finished as possible.

The carpenter wields an arsenal of tooling. Jigs, drills, 15 types of saws, lasers, specialty fasteners, glue, nails, sandpaper, wide variety of nail guns all required to bring the material the final mile.

Sure, there are a wide variety of carpenters and some can turn a tree trunk into a nice piece of furniture but the vast majority of carpenters provide skills and expertise to get the final product cut to size seamlessly in a extreamly versatile manor.

A home gamer can slap together some millwork just like a 'vibe coder' can make some software.

Perfect your trade and hone your skills and there will always be a place to add that value.

I read it, but having a autonomous AI on a airgapped machine is still software at the end of the day no?
Wow if their own employee feels the need to Bug the conference room you wonder what his motivation was...money? Or something we should all know about going on?

I think alot of us here would love to be a fly on the wall to understand these companies more.

Re:Were Software Engineers blue-collar workers all along? on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @06:26AM (#50069497)

Re:The baffling intelligence of a single cell (2024) on Monday October 12, 2026 @11:40PM (#50066344)
It's an amazing design. Did we look at this to create the electric motor?
Wow thats pretty neat and interesting but this kinda implies you have physical access to both machines in which case why would you create a channel like this?

Would the victim machine need to have some inconspicuous software installed on it I guess in order to understand the commands?
