I really hope those model weights are more secure than this

All of these sites are independently created but viewed as a whole you would think they're all designed by the same group, which is the issue with modern design engineering. The herd mentality on X is quite nuts and I can count on two hands the number of truly unique software artists I know of and respect.

How many light gray, fully rounded buttons with a sans-serif font that darkens on hover can an industry make? How many scroll effects will satisfy you? I would love to see more experimentation within the industry. Unfortunately I don't see AI helping more than hurting here.

If you are attacking a system, you can try 100 things. If one thing works in getting access, you succeed.

If you are defending a system, you must defend against all 100 things. If one thing makes it through, you lose.

It's also possible that TE are full of people who are passionate about design and sound and want to work on and release interesting products in that space. Not everything is a psyop

Show HN: Pane – Give your AI access to your financial data via MCP

https://pane.money

Hey HN!Today I'm launching Pane, a tool that gives AI context on your financial data.Once connected, any MCP-compatible client (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.) can answer questions like: - "What did I spend on food this month?" - "What's my net worth right now?" - "Show me my recurring subscriptions" - "How much do I owe across all credit cards?" - "What are my investment holdings?"It's been...

Still interested to know the answer to this Q tho:

This bug is older than me
Is there an API for this? Much more useful to have a script that generates 10k mock objects and inserts into a database than generating in this web UI and copy/pasting :~)

Looks cool but like no UI engineers at Microsoft have ever implemented anything the design team have ever proposed
Kinda thing I’d write immediately after reading Roko’s Basilisk
This reminds me of the way Microsoft used the rings in the Xbox 360 menu to catch leakers pre-release

Re:SkyLink – Bluesky DID Detector browser plugin on Monday May 08, 2023 @03:00AM (#35858877)
DNS over HTTP is still a DNS request
Skyname lets you register a username like example.tired.io (or another domain such as .bsky.cool) and switch your Bluesky username to it automatically. Will try and improve on communication here, I get "username registrar" is kind of hard to understand at first glance but after learning more I think it's a good description. It requires very specific user interaction to first select a new username and then register it and change your account, so logging in (make sure you generate a new App Password in settings) won't do any writes to your account automatically.
I'm not hijacking the back button :~( just a simple Next.js app.

Bluesky doesn't have an OAuth2 API right now, so as a temporary way of authenticating with your Bluesky account you can create an "App Password" in settings with a name that can be revoked at any time. This is not the same as your account password. Hopefully the field placeholder makes this clear, but I'll probably reject any auth that uses the accounts main password going forward.

Thank you for trying it out though!
