These posts are always pointing outwards.

Like it's the fault of someone else that you cannot say no.

Fuck you, you are just part of a privileged wanking industry and the whining is like hearing children fight.

I am going back to making my Napoletanian pizzas, so shut the fuck up and leave me at, at least these pizzas are not changing.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:41PM (#50122557)
Wouldn't drive a Tesla if it was given to me.

European or Japanese cars all day.

How the US president became president is still the question that baffles me the most.

Twice. You did it twice.

Re:Mistral Large 4 on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @01:23AM (#49988579)
You live in a small scared country with the same kind of people all around you, with very little diversity.

Your taxation was the only thing your otherwise poor country could come up with. And now you only have this little enclave which silently melts away while you get stuck there, scared of the rest of the world.

The Swiss are a special breed. Too small to bark, too small to make an impact, but just small enough for the rest of us to laugh at when some rich dude can't understand why the rest of the world doesn't want to be like that.

You're scared of the world, not one bit interested in making it a better place for all mankind. Wanker

Ask HN: Show me your agentic SDE semantics

I am considering describing a SDE role for my agent to load in at context opening. Not in one file, but in many.I have seen people try to describe rules in an AGRNTS file but that is just too poor for my taste.I wanted to describe rules for a lot things I have learned during my career, spanning from how to think about a feature to how much code can be in a PR, how a branding strategy should be,...

( Read More... | no comments | on HN )
This is nothing new. This has been defacto standard for companies using cloud, which has burst or semi-predictable spikes in usage.

But the idiocy is incredible, even allowing for this to be happen in a business is so infantile that the only hard cap that should be important is not to allow stupid people in the machine room.

Re:The last time my family was replaced by technology on Thursday October 01, 2026 @12:54AM (#49917876)
The mechanic analogy is rather useful. Today a mechanic is in a more squeezed space than we are, having to learn EVs and electronics, or accept to go out of business within the next 10 years.

Having worked with a few combustion engines I have no clue about how to repair an EV.

A fine example of how new technology is not better, since it closes the door on too many people.

Re:Ray Ozzie and the Optimism of Being Early on Saturday September 19, 2026 @02:21PM (#49768922)
Ray was, and probably stille is, a great architect and programmer.

He made us younger Microsoft employees feel like there was room for technical people in the top of the company.

Microsoft was actually always good at that. They know how to treat their people right

AI is not a brain, now pay me.
I believe Trump permanently damaged both European and Canadian relations a long time ago.

And I also believe both Canada and Europe are working in the covers to distance themselves more or less permanently from USA.

It's not Trump per se. It's the reality that the Americans has fostered a system, and a society and culture that is just way off from what seems healthy by any means.

Re:What my dad taught me about AI coding in the 90s on Sunday August 30, 2026 @10:28AM (#49498962)
You learn a lot more by reading code than writing it.

So reading the output i believe is an immensely big gift by an LLM, because if you actually take note - and of course know your skills - then ot becomes such a great pal to work with.

I like reading what the LMM gives me, not always, but a lot of times.

Re:Ask HN: Why are Claude models so verbose? on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @01:22AM (#49444317)
Because models that chat to themselves generate more tokens, hence more money is spent.

Easy

I guess special hardware is the new moat in AI.

Maybe the money will still flow into this industry after all

Re:Coding expertise is going to collapse from AI reliance on Monday August 24, 2026 @03:39PM (#49424845)
Would you work for less money and use AI ? Or would you step out - professionally - of the industry and program for passion and fun ?

I think that is a question we are all mulling about these years.

Our expertise has been packaged into a 200$ product and the competition has become ourselves.

Re:How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs on Monday August 24, 2026 @02:57PM (#49424309)
Yes, and that's a whole different problem, which in itself does not equal stupid shit.

The reason the price for parcels from China is going up in Europe is not shipping chips or component, it's from shipping stupid fucking shit people do not need, from e.g Temu and copied goods such as clothing, shoes and what not.

The toll offices in the airports are being drowned in cheap crap. Shut it down by making people pay more for the shit they buy. That will of course hurt everyone else, but that is how it works.

Re:How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs on Monday August 24, 2026 @01:11PM (#49422877)
It should be much higher.

The amount of shit that gets shipped from China to Europe (world) is fucking ludicrous, and people should be taxed heavily for the stupid shit they often don't need.

It really seems the US is done.

Re:DHH Advocates for "Remigration" on Friday July 17, 2026 @01:30PM (#48949961)
I think I understand why David went home to Denmark. You can hear it in him. His moaning and liberal bitching.

Like a true fucking yankee.

What a sellout.

This is purely politics and the only way to get back the trillions of dollars, Americans has invested in AI.

US government will point to Chinese models and companies, saying it is a risk - just as the west did with Huawei - making it a none choice for brainless corporate people to choose what the choir preach.

Pure politics

Re:Why SpaceX 2040 Revenue FCST $4.3T in highly unlikely on Wednesday June 10, 2026 @02:39PM (#48480766)
I think the US is in such a fucked up place economically, that the stock market is so overheated and will cause grave inflation, but it's the only lever left to pull for the government, that it will cause havoc within the next 10 years.

SpaceX or any of AI companies for that matter is absolutely not worth their money, but they will be carried through by government legislation, because otherwise the economy will be fucked for the US.

SpaceX ... 4.3 trillion...what the fuck are you on about

"The people that start "tech" companies are often soulless and maladapted to society, having hid behind computers to escape their inability to deal with the real world".

Yes. Of course.

You cannot trust anyone to have a rounded mind unless they have actually done more than one thing, broadly speaking.

Having worked at one of these companies, I don't buy for one second, that these companies are not obsessed with financial benefit. You would be an absolute idiot to believe that.
