Be sure to check out the switches, --ultra-brute is what I usually use.
Re:Basecamp Personal on Tuesday January 22, 2013 @11:03AM (#5097716)
I may be weird, but I'd much rather use trello + properly sorted email than basecamp.
Re:GitLab 4.0 Released on Sunday December 23, 2012 @12:36PM (#4960002)
Man, the feature that I've wanted for a LONG time is in this rev of GitLab. Groups / Namespaces and permissions based on those groups.
Re:PostgreSQL 9.2 released on Monday September 10, 2012 @11:10PM (#4503566)
Oh so like Mysql "\G" command.
Re:So I Made A Mashup, And Then… on Saturday September 08, 2012 @01:10PM (#4493358)
I don't know what it is but the font on this site looks really bad in my browser.
Re:</CaptureTheFlag> on Thursday September 06, 2012 @11:31AM (#4484543)
I was very happy when I finally completed it :) Excited to get my shirt.
Re:HAProxy 1.5 supports SSL offloading and downstream encryption on Tuesday September 04, 2012 @06:41PM (#4476918)
Because Windows XP doesn't support SNI, so not many people use it. That's my theory.
Re:Parallels Desktop 8 vs. VMware Fusion 5: Benchmark Showdown on Tuesday September 04, 2012 @05:08PM (#4476544)
HyperV doesn't really count here...
Re:A TCP Port Scanner in Bash on Tuesday August 28, 2012 @09:45AM (#4443604)
This requires your bash have networking support compiled in (some distros don't, or didn't in the past), I'm not sure why you wouldn't use nmap, or even netcat: `nc -z $my_host_to_scan 1-1023`
Woo, Finally got level 8
On level 7 now. Man this is fun.
Gah, I'm stuck on level 4. I've never really dealt with security in ruby / sinatra / sequel applications.
Re:JRE & JDK now available to OS X developers on Tuesday August 14, 2012 @05:46PM (#4383213)
Worked just fine clicking the link to the DMG.
Rails is nice, but it's really really slow. At my job we use Jetty as the server with Play or Lift as the framework -- I think most of the devs like Play better, though. Really easy to run as an unprivileged user and do backends through nginx as well.
it's 123456, and that's pretty common across a lot of sites.
Re:Google is reporting itself as a malware distributor. on Wednesday February 01, 2012 @11:01PM (#3541361)
Heh, working as intended I suppose.
Strangely, it doesn't work inside of screen. I'd bet that it's because of the parent ID?
Re:Ask HN: How do Anonymous and Lulz hack so many sites? on Sunday January 22, 2012 @11:48PM (#3499107)
From what I know of Anon and Lulzsec a lot of what they do isn't actually 'hacking.' The sheer amount of boxes they have lets them DDOS any site pretty easily. If not DDOS they usually do SQL injections.
Neat. I updated one of my VMs running debian Sid from 2.6.32 kernel to 3.2.0-1-686-pae just to see if it would work. It works on the 3.2 kernel. Kind of scary. I checked to see if I had access to any 'real world' servers running and exploitable kernel and none of them seemed to.

Re:BASH autocomplete for SSH on Saturday January 21, 2012 @03:03AM (#3492956)
You'd be surprised how little some people know about bash ctrl commands.
Re:Facebook launches Actions, driving social into everything on Saturday January 21, 2012 @02:02AM (#3492852)
What I do like about this:

* Cool shit like listening to Spotify with someone, and the time syncs up with them (supposedly)

What I dislike:

* Most of the time when I click on a friends linked news article it asks me to read it through the websites Social Reader Facebook App... I'm looking at you Washington Post.

Re:The cleanest vimrc you'll ever see on Saturday January 21, 2012 @01:45AM (#3492825)
I have my vimrc on github as well. It gets the job done for me. Keep in mind I'm far more of a sysadmin than a programmer.
