Yes. People complain about AI but the downfall of human cognition began when syntax highlighting, formatting and indentation were introduced. /s

If goosebumps are only "mildly to moderately pleasurable", I really need to know what kind of music the author listens to!

How long until Crysis in typescript?
You're good at guerrilla marketing! I, too, got curious about your blog and got blocked. Real FOMO.

Or needs to be rewritten in Rust.

It's the fact you were not there.

Yes, it's like GP never heard the term RTFM.
Thanks for adding Tab view. Much more intuitive.

Second this. My apartment has wall lights only, except for the kitchen. Very cosy.

> All my coworkers are in the same boat though

That changes the picture a lot though because OP's whole point was the impedance mismatch between colleagues.

If you're all self aware that you're all winging it, and learning together, that seems a lot more of a healthier culture.

I have a very similar experience, and am very frustrated too.

I could (and do) lay blame on this new culture that "in the age of AI" things are there to be done, not learned, and doing is cheap (even if badly).

But I'm also particularly frustrated with myself for going along with it, and becoming that person.

I've never been that person. So on the one hand I feel I pressure to adapt or die. On the other hand adapting is dying, in a sense.

Re:Site Is Closed on Sundays on Sunday September 06, 2026 @05:22AM (#49584673)
Why stop there?

When you visit my website a notification pops up on my phone and I have to set HTTP response manually.

It's also audio-only, because if you called me on the phone you wouldn't see any UI, would you?

It makes sense if you look at the file[1] he's taking about. It's explicitly declaring jargon so you don't need to redescribe $THING every time.

Exposure is still valuable. Eventually you recognise a nice... ahem... opinion... just by looking at it.
Re:Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @08:40PM (#49530311)
Wow, that's a perfect example.

One thing about it I really hate, and haven't seen a lot of people mentioning, is how it navigates multiple abstraction levels in a single sentence. E.g.

> Worth stating because four documents now assert it.

Meta commentary on the task?

> a dead drag handle

Drag handle seems to be referring to some UI element. What does it mean for it to be dead?

So far no big deal

> during a booked half-day you do not get back

Do you not get the drag handle back? Or the half day?

Was the drag handle dead during the booked period? (Now I assume this is a calendar UI) And why does it matter (for this sentence) if you get it back or not.

> handoff-4.3-done.html's own wording

Treats verbatim filenames as subjects

> 4.4's review page

Probably referring to a file? I'm guessing handoff-4.4-review.html? No cohesion. And now it's actually the object of the sentence?

> downside of being wrong is that half day

Wait what's the downside? Who's being wrong?

> Checked, not recalled.

Then it jumps back to a meta commentary on the methodology for asserting the above. Why does this belong to the text?

My local hill has car access to the very top. I still see plenty of people just climbing it for fun or fitness.
