Is the code posted anywhere?

Great, thanks -- I'm looking forward to your release.
Re:Let's Encrypt: How It Works on Friday November 21, 2014 @01:40PM (#8642591)
Which browsers will trust Let's Encrypt certificates out of the box? There may be a major backwards compatibility gap here.

That's a lot of money for IKEA.

Marriot made $11.8 billion in 2012. $600,000 is not an actual punishment.
Re:Push notification click-through rates on Tuesday September 16, 2014 @02:55PM (#8326302)
Yeah exactly this. If you want to tell me about something that's legitimately important to me, fine. But don't remind me to come play your game or advertise your other products via push. This will result in an immediate uninstall. Zynga games have been banned from my devices for this reason.

Where's the breakdown of Palestinians who volunteered to be human shields against buildings clearly marked for destruction?

I give it a week before someone creates a lego mindstorm / arduino device with suction cups that performs the entire sequence in much less than 20min.
Re:DynDNS ends free services on Tuesday April 08, 2014 @04:49PM (#7555911)
I have a feeling that we're going to start seeing a lot of this post LogMeIn's cancellation of free services.
Re:Mt. Gox Files for Bankruptcy in U.S on Monday March 10, 2014 @04:19PM (#7375441)
Fuck compensating people for their goods and services!

Re:Mac Pro Colocation on Monday January 27, 2014 @10:54AM (#7130919)
Scratches? Seriously? It's in a data center. Who cares?

Besides, the enclosure is there to take scuffs in place of the computer's internals. That's protection enough for people who use these services.

As for vibration, SSDs and the lack of CDROM drives mean that these things have no moving parts to be disturbed.

Re:LogMeIn to discontinue free remote access product on Tuesday January 21, 2014 @01:31PM (#7097185)
This looks interesting. They make all of their money on enterprise licenses and give out their software for free to end users.

Also, they're about to fix their firewall limitation:

"NoMachine Anywhere is the next piece of the puzzle. NoMachine Anywhere is a free service, which will be available to everyone, enabling people to connect to each other's computer behind routers and firewalls, without the need for knowing their IP address. Initially slated for end 2013, it has been moved to first quarter 2014." -from their website

Re:LogMeIn to discontinue free remote access product on Tuesday January 21, 2014 @11:08AM (#7096093)
Looks like $50/year for existing free users. No idea what it will raise to after the first year.

...a very niche market for techies who are aware of and take issue with Google's privacy issues.
Re:The new Breaker 101 course has launched on Friday January 10, 2014 @01:03PM (#7038183)
Does anyone know of free resources to get a taste of this sort of thing?
Do you have any more codes?

Tom Forbes: investigator, judge, jury, and executioner.

Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to notify law enforcement?

Re:Comcast announces placing data caps on Friday November 08, 2013 @11:05AM (#6696902)
Do what exactly? Most areas in the US are served either by one provider that does whatever the hell it wants or multiple providers that offer the same awful service at the same terrible prices (ish). We can't vote with our money and we can't vote with our votes since our politicians (1) are clueless about all things technology (2) get the little knowledge they have from lobbyists and (3) won't do anything about internet problems unless they hear about it from a lot of voters, most of whom are also clueless about all things technology.
Re:How to get Gogo in-flight wireless internet for free on Wednesday September 18, 2013 @12:04PM (#6406057)
This will be exploited by people without a moral compass. What are you trying to get at? The author isn't suggesting this as a life hack for free internet, he's just showing that it can be done.
Obligatory "CNet has ads? I use AdBlock!" post.
Re:No Time for Coffee? Spray Caffeine On Your Skin on Friday August 30, 2013 @01:18PM (#6302947)
If you think you don't have time for coffee you need a therapist, not a spray bottle.
Re:Hacker News Tech Hiring Trends on Monday August 19, 2013 @10:56AM (#6237540)

Re:Q & A: Edward Snowden speaks to Peter Maass on Tuesday August 13, 2013 @10:25AM (#6205875)
Where are you told to make a purchase? That's the full story, as it will appear in Sunday's NYT Magazine.
Alternately, you could just leave copies of all of your communications on a Dropbox that gets "hacked" and leaked to the press.
