Re:No More Icons in Every Menu by Default on Thursday October 22, 2026 @07:58AM (#50194141)
Unlike the author here, there are people in the world who use google products that don't know how to read/write.

There are people with down syndrome as well for whom icons are much easier.

This is great. Thanks.
They charge for google workspace and many companies use workspace and expand on the services they use provided by workspace. The trojon was gmail and gmail interface / app on android and iphone.

An innovative custom designer can use other tools or do manual animations / layout if they require.
Re:WhatsApp Introduces Ads in Its App on Tuesday June 17, 2025 @02:18AM (#44296182)
Alice Newton-Rex, head of product at WhatsApp: “Alongside of private messaging, people were saying they wanted to hear more about topics, teams and organizations across WhatsApp.”

- I am pretty sure NO ONE asked to hear about more topics and organizations across whatsapp.

Re:The case against conversational interfaces on Tuesday April 01, 2025 @03:35AM (#43543890)
Agree. Not all systems require convo mode. I personally find Chat/Convo/IVR type interface slow/tedious. Keyboard/Mouse ftw.

However, A CEO using Power BI with Convo to can get more insights/graphs rather than slice/dicing his data. They do have fixed metrics but incase they want something not displayed.

Re:Meta bans RT and other Russian state-linked media networks on Tuesday September 17, 2024 @08:09AM (#41566814)
There has to be a fine line between blatant misinformation and social content. Internet is now a matured technology and now (Social Media, esp.) is easily exploited by various entities. You should read up a bit more on this, rather than blaming META. Our way of life and trust in institutions is under threat due to blatant abuses by Russia. They were also paying $100,000 per video to influencers to create distrust in everything.

Can you integrate commercially with a jobs board? Or create a jobs website?

Was just trying to troubleshoot for the sake of curiosity. But yeah, your method works.

:D

When is the last time you restarted your mac? I had this guy complain to me, everything is laggy and chrome is slow (memory leaks?). A simple restart fixed everything. Clear your chrome cache/etc. Disable all extensions you dont use and try again.

If it does not, try another browser.

Yea, no need of over-engineering.
Browsing for 15 mins on twitter and you can see .eth blue ticked usernames spewing Russian propaganda. Elon fired most of its vetting team and handicapped the reporting function. Adversaries are riding "free speech" on twitter without moderation and are running it. Elon seems to be doing it on purpose as he has an agenda with Peter Thiel/David Sacks.

Facebook/Instagram reporting system works better. Well, after 30 years of the internet, what started out as helpful online community/resource has now sadly been weaponized. I miss the early web 2.0 days (2003 - 2009)

What comes next?

Agree. Arm-chair generals above think otherwise.
You can look into EB-5 Visa if you want to self-sponsor yourself and have the monies: https://www.eb5united.com/eb5-visa/

I was all with you until you mentioned,

"similar to the Ghost cities you see in China and India"

I don't think India has ghost cities in the way you mean.

His views do matter to provide context as to why he was in Ukraine and why he was in Jail. During war, normal rules don't apply. You have to be daft to support Russia, while you are in Ukraine. He was a grifter, enough said.
Gonzalo Lira was Pro-Russia supporter during war time. See the way he spoke about women and what his real intentions were. More about the real Gonzalo, who was a paid russian shill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nyvrMYGEz4
Russians are really the worst bad faith actors in the global system.
Re:Asus Zenbook Duo 2024 on Wednesday January 17, 2024 @04:02AM (#39025202)
Yes, your model makes sense if you dont require gaming. Asus really makes the best devices. I have been theirs's and HTC fan for years. Had Lamborghini laptop from Asus and HTC diamond phone circa 2008-9.
This made sense earlier when the app store started, now with abundant bandwidth and reduced cost of hosting, and increase in number of developers/apps and other player/markets, they should reduce it to 5%. It is like how we treasured 5 mb internet on mobile devices, now we use that in a sec.
Re:Asus Zenbook Duo 2024 on Sunday January 14, 2024 @06:51AM (#38989613)
I have the Zyphreus Duo ( https://rog.asus.com/in/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-du... ) with the touch screen in between the screen and the keyboard. Its perfect for todo/whatsapp/zoom/file explorer and I have an external screen/keyboard/mouse (so in total 2.5 screens). Perfect desktop replacement and a good gaming laptop. Mobility is limited due to battery life but it suits my needs.
YouTube Music is way better. Spotify is laggy like slack.
Hi Peter,

Do you think for Founders, the US EB-5 Green Card Visa can be a good option? (If cost is not a problem)

A recent update: The Visa availability figures for fiscal year 2024 have just been released, and the news couldn’t be better for EB-5 investors – particularly those hailing from China and India. Rather than the typical 10,000 annual EB-5 Visa quota, the allocation for 2024 has surged to 22,233 EB-5 Visas.

I still use adblocker on everything else and I know YT without adblock / premium is terrible.

However, YT premium is only 2-3 USD/mo in India. So, I use that to get ad-free experience on YT and also YT music is great.

Re:Autopay Is Making Us Worse at Managing Credit-Card Bills on Monday October 09, 2023 @01:20PM (#37822773)
Indian Govt. forced the companies to create an e-mandate. At start it was chaos, but I think overall there have been savings. From the article: https://support.google.com/pay/india/answer/11040246?hl=en

"Due to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, automatic payments in India will be limited to ₹5,000 INR ($60) per transaction. The e-mandate notification also requires Google to set up an e-mandate for your card. This affects all users, but there are some differences depending on whether you're a new customer or an existing user."
