It was a lot of up-front work, and BIG DESIGN UP FRONT allowed the thing to succeed in production.

re: missing the point

AI did not inject the bugs into PHP as far as i know?

you are my prophet. have every and all upvotes in the universe.

personally i disagree, at least in a pragmatic approach to js's design. also your example doesn't make much of a valid point i feel: the promises are still async on the microtask queue. you seem to be showing syntax, not semantics.

some theoretical thoughts along similar lines, but both Qt & Gnome.

you would. python and ffi would have runtime sanity checks a la fil-c. better error messages too. ask your favorite LLM how it would look.
a fun exercise is to ask an LLM how it might be applied.
also: why not use fil-c to improve cython, and the ffi.
indeed, the ideas could be used more widely.

fil-c runs on linux.

what if linux ran on fil-c?

Write python code that works "everywhere". (Except, of course, if you use any libraries at all. Ha ha.)

As used by github.com/raould/shelldsl.

Early days.

Re:The Fil-C Optimized Calling Convention on Tuesday May 19, 2026 @04:04PM (#48198701)
I keep day-dreaming about how to leverage the ideas in Fil-C. (a) use it for both Python interpreter and all C libs i want to call from there. (b) use the ideas for extra security in the OS kernel.

for me i want more semantics. the top level thing we read and maintain and apply should be "roles".

not enough buttons maybe but these have a version called "L LEFT"

and AI is quite good at generating self-critique. it can write a story about itself, and how its abilities might undermine our own creativity.

Word! i've done some ground-up 2D games with no engine library. So i hand-rolled resources, frame rate, collision, simple physics, etc. One has no graphics assets. Another other does.
