Also, don't miss out on the botanical garden and its café, it's right around the corner!
> Correction: I’ll always value weapons and ammunition the most. Second? Maybe gas masks and filters.
Why Gas mask and filters? This is not really motivated and does not fit the frame of the story at all. Why you would need those? It sounds more like a Metro 2033 pitch.
Other than that, there are a few contradictions in there, i.e.:
> The politicians kept repeating over the TV that everything was going according to plan, there’s no reason to be concerned
> In my case, there was a man who needed a car battery for his radio.
Versus
> Many died if they went out to gather information, for example. It’s important to remember we had no information, no radio, no TV — only rumors and nothing else.
I'm not trying to discredit this article in any way, it's just that it leaves behind a large "citation/clarification needed"
X[n] = F[x[k]][n/2] if (n even) else F[x'[k]][(n+1)/2]
With F[x[k]] the DFT of the time-domain signal x[k], x'[k] = x[k]·exp(2·pi·i·k·alpha) and this alpha some constant which yields a frequency-domain shift by 25Hz.
If so: How does this method compare to zero-padding the time-domain signal (i.e. sinc-interpolating the frequency domain)? It is an interesting concept, but alas it's not immediately clear to me how to analyze this...
The last one looks like it has too many features for my taste, but I will keep it in the back of my mind (or rather: my bookmarks) if I'm ever in need of something along the lines of GitHub.
Thanks :)
What it does is to act as a SIP softphone, and spawn a process for each incoming or outgoing call, which can handle events (like DTMF tones) or do actions (like playing files) via stdin/stdout.
Currently, I am using it to spam filter incoming calls at home.
As a side question: I wonder where one can publish software like this nowadays, when freshmeat etc. are either gone or read-only. Preferably a place that is not GitHub.
Love the name though :)
Concerning the lyrics, I generally categorize them into two groups (with non-empty cut set):
* Intellectual lyrics, which criticize some part of society or human behaviour, or they deal with personal issues (e.g. http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/todtgelichter/angst.html#1)
* Theme lyrics, which try to fit a core concept of the bands music, like satanism or some war/Third Reich theme (e.g. Graphic http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/behemoth/thesatanist.html#1 Graphic). Also, note that a having a certain theme does not automatically imply endorsing it.
Usually, the music as well as the lyrics are cold and cynical, which can make their actual meaning hard to place or even ambivalent at times.
Concerning the neonazis: Personally, I do not see a trend towards the worse, but there are a few sketchy bands out there (the ones I know of are usually older, from the 90s or so).
Oh, P.S.: while the black metal fans may be not as teddybear-y as death metal fans, we are usually quite a nice bunch :)
