Re:Say farewell to the AI bubble, and get ready for the crash on Wednesday August 20, 2025 @02:45PM (#44964900)
Crashes also happen when there is a huge mismatch between price and value.
What you said (if true) makes Apple a great business. And your reasonable arguments make a good case for that.

But does it make a good investment? A good investment is investing in a great business at a reasonable price. If the price is unreasonably high, then even a great business makes for a bad investment.

It is interesting to evaluate predictions few years after they are made.
It could be because of number of ads shown per query. As number of competing ads goes up CTR goes down.

Re:Ask HN: Why are AMD GPUs doing better in gaming segment on Saturday August 26, 2023 @01:36PM (#37274972)
Is this reason specific to game development?
Re:Ask HN: Why are AMD GPUs doing better in gaming segment on Saturday August 26, 2023 @01:08PM (#37274666)
I see. What frameworks do game developers use? Are they custom and different for each game?

Ask HN: Why are AMD GPUs doing better in gaming segment

Here on HN its almost taken for granted that Nvidia's dominance in data center segment is because of CUDA framework (and possibly better gpus too). Why is amd doing so much better, relatively, in gaming segment? Is it because game development doesn't use CUDA?Feel free to let me know if my premise itself is wrong.

For transfers between bank:a and bank:b do both banks have to integrate with Fednow?

Thanks!

Is that right? If you lease and buy you get federal credit regardless of the income? Does it apply to any manufacturer?
Doesn't California have a income limit for tax credit eligibility?

135k for single income and 200k if you are jointly filing?

Re:The hidden cost of air quality monitoring on Tuesday June 27, 2023 @08:18PM (#36500587)
Can you post links here. I bought one in AliExpress and the readings were highly variable when there was no change in quality (as far as I can tell. Outdoor weather hasn't changed. I didn't cook, etc..)
Can you please tell us, who don't work in the field, what makes this chip awesome

Relveant summary:

"Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found within the Cannabis sativa plant. Previous studies suggest CBD may reduce anxiety. In this clinical trial, 14 patients with anxiety were treated for four-weeks with a cannabis-derived study product with high levels of CBD, administered under their tongue 3 times each day. All patients knew that they were being given CBD. Following four weeks of treatment, patients reported reduced anxiety as well as improvements in mood, sleep, quality of life, and measures reflecting their self-control and ability to think flexibly. Patients did not experience any serious negative effects during the trial. The impact of this product is now being evaluated in more patients with anxiety."
