Re:Why I’ll be Pirating Adobe’s Products From Now On on Sunday February 02, 2014 @12:30AM (#7164983)
For all those stating in the comments they only need to use Adobe products for an hour a month and can't justify CC.

You can download Adobe CS2 for free.

Maybe this can help in turning around those connotations.
> People should learn two programming languages at the same time

I agree with this. I think its a great way to understand how those new concepts and ideas work in two different universes. Its helped me separate and understand how core ideas and concepts work and how they can work different.

Re:PSD to HTML is Dead on Tuesday January 14, 2014 @03:27PM (#7059469)
+1 all these replies. As a designer first, I taught myself to code, Just as I taught myself how print medium works. These details are integral to the end product.

A web designer that doesn't understand code != a web designer.

I think Photoshop should be replaced with Illustrator. for the initial design phases. 1) You can do wireframes in Illustrator, then build directly on top of that for design. 2) Multiple artboards lets you layout multiple screen sizes/breakpoints. 3) Resizing elements and keeping crisp edges is much faster.

Re:2x 40 min of train everyday. Best way to spend them? on Tuesday January 14, 2014 @08:22AM (#7056821)
I used to have a commute like this and thought it was going to be such a time waste. Then i realized it was good me time.

great time for reading and also note taking. Look into your options on your phone or tablet and really pimp them out with consumption as well as productivity.

For note you may want to write your own little app, evernote will open by the time the commutes over.

Re:The PC’s Death Might Also Mean the Web’s Demise on Monday January 13, 2014 @10:18PM (#7055161)
The one thing the web has going for it is anyone can really make a webpage and essentially do whatever they like within the parameters of html, css, jscript etc. That's a pretty wide open nert (pun intended).

I can definitely see semi walled gardens going up as communities and user services. The benefits can be a greater more controlled user experience.

But even that said, web technologies are evolving and the web as a mobile option is still a bit in its infancy (aka you can still get a lot of web pages that look terrible)

Clear your cache.
This post seems more based on emotion than anything factual or statistics.

Real Talk, when infinite scrolling is bad:

1)When it moves your page location up when loading more.

2)When it loses your location because you clicked on a link.

when infinite scrolling is good:

1) Not clicking load more or next.

Also, Facebook already tries to show you what's important and it already gets users panties in a bunch because they don't understand edgerank.

Re:Turn Off Gmail's Email From Google+ Users on Saturday January 11, 2014 @12:48PM (#7043148)
This is so they can bump the G+ interaction numbers. It's really getting ridiculous how they are trying to force eveyone into the G+ party.
