We contacted Sony asking about creating an app. The TLDR of that conversation is they said "Don't call us, we'll call you". Open source never really mattered, they're not interested.

Sorry, I read your previous comment too quickly and thought it was about Jellyfin... Now that I'm fully awake I agree with your statement.

Curious, what changes have been made that you’re not interested in?
Re:Plex lays off more than 20 percent of its staff on Wednesday June 28, 2023 @08:33PM (#36514771)
We have no interest in doing that.

We do however have a tvOS client in development.

I haven’t seen a plugin with that functionality so I doubt it exists.

There is a typo in the GPT4 injection

Re:Ask HN: Why there are no Android mini phones? on Saturday November 20, 2021 @08:21AM (#29287833)
I have this phone, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The main issue I had is the battery doesn’t last more then a few hours with very light use.

Most of the webOS development happens in the web repo, you can see some items with webOS tag.

Identity server is still open source, it just has a much more restrictive license and is paid.

Jellyfin supports 4K HDR playback depending on the client. I don't personally use Infuse but I believe it supports 4K playback depending on the hardware it is running on.
There are many forks of this, namely ErsatzTV[0] which also supports Jellyfin

The only data Jellyfin "collects" is the download count from our mirros, which resets every ~24h, and can be viewed here[0] Note that this number is a count from all of the mirrored files, not just the server.

Re:Cloudflare Pages is now Generally Available on Monday April 12, 2021 @10:43AM (#26779970)
We’ve been using Cloudflare pages for Jellyfin’s experimental client[0] and it’s been really nice having automatic deployments on each PR and automatic master builds.

Re:Ask HN: cloud data storage cheaper than AWS S3? on Monday February 17, 2020 @04:17PM (#22350853)
Wasabi is decently inexpensive at $.0059 per GB/month https://wasabi.com/

I currently use it as my personal cloud backup

Both Jellyfin and Emby have Trakt plugins that I use to keep my watch status in sync between servers
