Spot on..
Re:Mistral OCR 4 on Tuesday June 23, 2026 @02:22PM (#48649161)
True, same conclusion, but the few samples I tried showed some real improvements since dec 2025 version.

I wonder how it does compare to reducto, pulse, extendai.
Looking great, how did you standardized animations / canvas work? Did AI help?
The YouTube citation thing feels like a quality regression. For medical stuff especially, I’ve found tools that anchor on papers (not videos) to be way more usable like incitefulmed.com is one example I’ve tried recently.
Re:Show HN: OCR Arena – A playground for OCR models on Tuesday November 25, 2025 @12:35AM (#46042659)
We need to see Landing.ai DPT-2, from my tests its the best in term of ability to extract structure from complex tables so far.
Re:DeepSeek OCR on Monday October 20, 2025 @04:54AM (#45641501)
This.

Any complex parent table span cell relationship still has low accuracy.

Try the reverse, take a complex picture table and ask Chatgpt5, claude Opus 3.1, Gemini Pro 2.5 to produce a HTML table.

They will fail.

You are right and things can revert backward very fast.

What pushed you to move to Kafka?
Re:The First 30lbs Bitcoin on Monday May 27, 2019 @07:35AM (#20021270)
It all started a year ago during a crypto fever run. A bitcoin coin is cool, but you know what's better? A gigantic Bitcoin bronze.

At first with an out-of-scale wooden version, then things started getting serious. 3D printer, silicon, and molten copper. Making such a piece with a mirror finish requires fine art expertise and took several trials.

The sculpture is signed by the foundry and encrusted with the bitcoin payment transaction hash on its side. It is close to impossible to counterfeit such a piece. Each foundry has its own signature based on the shares of each metal composing the bronze. Moreover, being handmade, two sculptures will never look exactly the same.

What do you think?

In France we use it in our Math curriculum.

Re:Vue 2.0 is here on Friday September 30, 2016 @03:43PM (#12614775)
I have worked on ember, backbone marionette and react. Vue JS really shines by its simplicity and speed while embracing all the concepts we expect from a modern js framework _ component based, flux style store management with vuex, reactive dom. Documentation is great and we built great stuff and enjoyed the journey so far.
Re:Cultivating Friendgineers on Wednesday September 28, 2016 @12:24AM (#12595412)
I agree, maybe it's also cultural but saying how great everyone was at each retro just dampers the intended effect.
He is French from Paris and yes in this context polyvalent === flexible.
Plus one on that. Also because YC already had a similar bet in this area.
Re:Tcl/tk vs. the web on Sunday January 31, 2016 @08:49PM (#11009136)
Granted the current state of JS is a bit of a joke. That said spend a week or two on understanding web components, virtual dom, immutable.js, webpack, babel and its plugins and you are good to go.
Great concept. Really.

I wonder what are all the holes for.
Re:Woman Receives the World's First 3D-Printed Skull on Thursday September 18, 2014 @06:46PM (#8338097)
I guess they screw it to the rest of the skull as this large picture shows http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2014-03/26/3d-printed-sk...
Re:Au Revoir, Entrepreneurs on Sunday March 23, 2014 @12:19PM (#7453860)
Being from the France tech scene and now living in SF ther are several things we should not forget.

CONS

- Yes you get big taxes, and setting up a company is a pain (RSI/URSSAF), administration is slow and inefficient.

Finding fundings can be hard and investements are generaly smaller than in the US.

French market is smal unless your target is international from day 1.

But,

PROS

- You have a pool of not so pricy talented workers (Well supposing you benefit from “Credit impot recherche” otherwise the total cost of an employee is x2 his salary).

- Fight for some government subsidies (time consuming).

- Leverage the government to pay your salary while bootstrapping. For startupers with previous work experience, you can quit your company in good terms and receive unemployement paychecks for a year or so.

Re:This is What it's Like to Be a Woman at a Bitcoin Meetup on Sunday January 26, 2014 @03:49AM (#7124458)
I do not get it, didnt anyone have at least a few female classmates from their uni time?. Even at work, in France, we have some bright female engineers leading guys on code reviews. It should not be surprising to see female bitcoin crypto fans.
Re:Where do you find the time for side projects? on Friday January 24, 2014 @03:14PM (#7117643)
For me it´s cyclic, every six months I fall into a creation craving period. An understanding wife and not so intense daily workload helps.

Really really impressive, you roxx PS: http://tutorsbox.com creator
We could create a guest account but usually the tutor knows the student and will give more than one lessons. We also simplified the onboarding process for the student to a minimum number of fields.
