Awesome work, and it's great to see more tools in this important area.

How do you handle the "Forgot Password" problem?

Say, if a user clears out local storage and forgets their password. Is there a way to recover it from what's stored on the server?

This is what I've been working on lately in the blockchain space. Would love to get thoughts and opinions from the HN crowd.

Re:Ask HN: What are your impressions of the HoloLens so far? on Thursday April 13, 2017 @10:05AM (#14106982)
The demo will blow your mind. My biggest takeaway was that AR probably has more potential in the long-term than VR. VR is immersive sure, but you quickly run into physical boundaries or your mind becomes out of sync with your body. AR has all the benefits of VR but layered on top of your physical environment, enriching it and providing a reference point.

To speculate, I'd say VR will find its killer app in gaming/entertainment (similar to TV), and AR will become the next great I/O interface between humans and computers (similar to phones/tablets).

Looks cool! I'll give it a try.

Looks like you guys created your own blockchain for the service. Any reason why Ethereum wasn't used? Any limitations?

What's the best way to structure data from a video?

Is there software to "parse" video content and get information about what happened in the frame and at what time?Imagine there's security camera footage and instead of watching the whole video, software could process it to say that a person entered a frame at a given time or a dog walked by.Is there a commercial product or open source option for accomplishing this scenario? Possibly using ML?

'I'm Feeling Lucky' is actually my default search in a Chrome tab. It's super fast to just type 'espn ncaab scores' in a new tab and get exactly what you want without any clicks.

For Google results, I preface with a 'g '.

If Firefox had this feature (it may and I haven't found it) I'd probably switch over. Chrome takes up so much memory on my Mac with its Google Chrome Helpers, it's a pain.

Reminds me of Simple Note, which I've been using ever since Evernote became slow and bloated (https://simplenote.com/).
Is there any good source for knowledge on what's affecting the price of Bitcoin and other cryptos?

Where can someone learn about this stuff?

I help run a distributed company with folks in NY, CA, VA, and NC. Content like this from Zapier or other successful remote-first companies provides an excellent source of ideas to apply to my own team and also helps to slowly remove the stigma against remote work. Appreciate you guys publishing these types of articles!

As a huge Alexa fan, the big differentiator for me is the Chromecast integration. The ability to walk into my apartment and say "Play the latest Colbert" while I do a couple chores is a holy grail for me.

Alexa accomplishes this scenario well for audio (music/news/audio books) but not video.

Ask HN: Find an accountant for small dev shop?

What's the best way to find an accountant to support a small dev shop? How much do they cost?I've been a freelancer for the past 2 years but recently found a partner and hired a couple developers. I do all the invoicing and run payroll through QuickBooks but would like to find a professional accountant to spend a couple hours each month on my business. I'm also interested in annual tax planning...
