Preventing serious illness and death has always been the stated goal of COVID-19 vaccine development and distribution.

Yes, I can read. Your argument is nonsensical.

> I would moreover argue that if a government scheme can be sabotaged like this in the first place, the government scheme is itself at fault [...]

This is the weirdest argument. I mean, you seem to be arguing for some kind of government that's not answerable to elected leaders or voters? I mean, how else would you be able to run a program that couldn't be shut down by the leadership of an organization - public or private?

You can't call dibs on any future progress in a field.
Re:Ask HN: Who's getting pulled back into the office? on Wednesday February 09, 2022 @10:31PM (#30282123)
For us it was supposed to be a rotation, with people in on different days so you're still doing all your meetings on Zoom but now you need to drive an hour to do it.

Yeah but you know, as much as you know anything else really, that your code won't break your toaster.

You're gonna need a citation or two for all of that.

Even assuming that you are correct in your absolutely ridiculous assumption that self-driving cars are about controlling the movement of the population, why would you think it would be government control and not control of the company that is trying to develop the self-driving technology?

Discord won't take the numbers, Venmo won't take the numbers.

In what way? The article is what it says on the tin.

Ritual human sacrifice could alternatively be described as someone taking an approach to religion that you don't like.

I want to ask you a framing question: have I violated anyone's rights if I tell you that I had Cheerios for breakfast this morning?

Define "go over well."
Re:How do you fix a stroad? on Thursday December 09, 2021 @09:51PM (#29505905)
I mean, if you're in a growing city and you do nothing, things will eventually get shitty for suburban commuters. At that point, you might have a choice between expanding the road system or building the rail.
Re:How do you fix a stroad? on Thursday December 09, 2021 @09:29PM (#29505783)
That's what commuter light rail is for, is Strong Towns against that?
Re:Everyday robots are slowly leaving the lab on Tuesday November 23, 2021 @11:12AM (#29319528)
Mine doesn't.

There's also a mechanical version of a prusik called an "ascender." That's what I think this thing basically is.
I don't even have an account with Robinhood. I've never done any business with them but somebody else set up an account with my email address. After taking way too long to have my email removed from that account, they now managed to give it to some criminals as well.
That makes even less sense, somehow.

You're off by a factor of 4,000 or so.

Hacker News is really filling in the COVID misinformation niche since some other sites have started acting a little bit more responsibly.
