If you're building with KiCad then I've found the folks on the KiCad discord[1] very willing to take a look over a design and provide feedback. There's also a subreddit[2] for PCB design posting and review, but I haven't personally used it.

Have you taken a look at https://hop.io/ ?

Seems to be an attempt to recreate the best parts of Heroku with some extras.

Re:Hogmanay on Saturday December 31, 2022 @10:49AM (#34197460)
Maybe! I haven't been into town for Hogmanay for about that long :)

Another good spot used to be the Vennel steps beside Heriot's, but it has become a popular Instagram/TikTok spot recently so might be busy.

If anyone from HN is visiting Edinburgh for Hogmanay, a great view of the fireworks can be had from the top of Calton Hill in the centre of the city. The best way to get up is the set of steps next to Howies on Regent Road.

And under 90kb to fully load!
Re:Inkbase: Programmable Ink on Thursday December 01, 2022 @06:41AM (#33815026)
Having a programmable sketch never occurred to me - it's a really fresh take.

As someone who loves working on paper to design the structure of a system, the conversion to boilerplate structure has always been a laborious structure. Any way to move from a drawn UML type diagram to a basic class structure would be an improvement.

Hi HN, we're overwhelmed by the response to this event - it seems like something that has really struck a chord with the London tech community.

We are still looking to confirm a venue for next week, thanks to everyone that has reached out with an offer for this so far. If you are able offer space for this, or a future event - it would be great to hear from you, my email is firstname at oneslipstream.com

Thanks for this, I’ve reached out to both Dmitri and Stevie to chat about the community. They definitely paved the way for this, so their knowledge would be invaluable.

Hope to see you there :)
Re:Tell HN: HN London Meetup on Wednesday August 31, 2022 @07:57AM (#32661031)
Of course, hope to see you at one in the next few months.
Re:Tell HN: HN London Meetup on Wednesday August 31, 2022 @07:57AM (#32661027)
It's a real pity that events haven't started up again completely post-lockdown. One of the reasons that I started out in tech was the active and welcoming European Hackathon community, so events have been a big part of my experience.

Hope to catch you at an event in the future!

This is cool, I'll sign up to their September event when it's published.

The hackathon section is interesting too. Do they host hackathons, or just help companies organise them?
