yeah, this is the right answer. Are there any examples where this isn't what you want? I guess GROUPING SETS and ROLLUP, but those could be special.
Land Value Tax solves everything! /meme
haha, that's not a visual programming language!
I've been feeling very paranoid about posting ANYTHING online, honestly. Or chat, email, video call, etc. Is that what we're talking about?
> Visa does[n't] need to hold the balance of my account.
Yes they do?
> Visa does[n't] need to or makes available all of my equity worth of assets for me to transfer.
This is a horrifying bug, right? A thing that no person would ever want, and it's so rare that visa would make you talk to a person and raise your limit first, or they'd get more people involved to make sure you're not being coerced because it's such an abnormal thing to do. Lawyers in some cases, just because you're being so silly. But if you REALLY wanted to make a $1b debit card transaction, you probably totally could, just call the visa billionaire line.
> Visa does not custody my assets.
But a regular bank can, and visa will send to and from there with a debit card.
Having a human rabbit isn't something you can really stop.
Am I an idiot who went out way too fast for the first 600m and then died, or did I exactly hit my teammate's pace, and then fall off intentionally?

You'd be surprised how often git repos disappear when you have 100s or 1000s of deps.
I think that's a different dgit
This is really amazing! Want to make sure I have a comment on the original post when this is huge!
"All Property, indeed, except the Savage's temporary Cabin, his Bow, his Matchcoat, and other little Acquisitions, absolutely necessary for his Subsistence, seems to me to be the Creature of public Convention. Hence the Public has the Right of Regulating Descents, and all other Conveyances of Property, and even of limiting the Quantity and the Uses of it. All the Property that is necessary to a Man, for the Conservation of the Individual and the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right, which none can justly deprive him of: But all Property superfluous to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who, by their Laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other Laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition. He that does not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire and live among Savages. He can have no right to the benefits of Society, who will not pay his Club towards the Support of it."
He also didn't think much of private property.

A Georgist Land Value Tax would be a much better solution.
Jeff Bezos isn't a a billion times more productive than an average person. He's leeching off the productivity of amazon's workers.
The problem is that if the state were to provide secure public-private key cryptographic identity, there would be absolutely no need for PoW or PoS. Eventually we'll figure that out, and all of this work will haven been useless.
Miners probably have a bit of a sunk cost fallacy, since there's a fixed cost associated with acquiring the hardware. Plus, if they're still bullish on bitcoin, the short term loss is probably worth it in their eyes.
Do most people have more than one theater that they visit frequently? I'd personally be fine with a subscription to just one chain, since almost all chains have almost all of the content.
What's an example of a "sailing to Africa and back" problem in JavaScript?
No, because they won't get anyone's check, and then it's definitely their problem.
What big problem did the early internet solve? Sending messages between universities? Why not just use a phone?
What if someone is allergic to your food. What if there's a virus that makes everyone allergic to a specific food. The value isn't inherent.
This is exactly the kind of defeatist attitude that leads to nothing ever getting done on contentious issues
Just as an fyi, dramamine (non-drowsy if you're trying to work) works really well for VR induced motion sickness.
How about an employer based basic income, where the government subsidizes X dollars per year, per employee. Seems like it would fit right in with an employer based healthcare.
9.5, however we did experiment with 9.6 when it was in beta, due to the parallel sequential scan feature, but it didn't seem to help much.
TL;DR
Not every company that has a revenue chart shaped like a hockey stick is going to become a multi billion dollar business. Consider looking at metrics other than growth when investing.
Is this actually something that needs to be said?
Not OP, but for us, the reasons we switched from postgres to sql server were the "clustered columnstore indexes" and query parallelization. Before switching to sql server, we spent a ton of time optimizing query performance with "clever" use of indexes, ctes, etc. With sql server, we've been able to just use the columnstore indexes and write simple, straightforward queries that run in ~200ms vs 10-20 seconds in postgres.
And before you ask, we spent A TON if time and money on configuration, paying for multiple postgres experts to help with optimization.
