Scaling people by Claire Hughes Johnson is a recent one that is quite good.
Re:Ask HN: Do you have a problem you'd pay to have taken away? on Saturday January 06, 2024 @10:50PM (#38898240)
Not sure if this exists, but as a remote/distributed startup with no physical office, i use my home address on contracts and for mail. I'd like a service (in Canada) to allow me to register my address somewhere, ideally a commercial location, and forward all my mail to my home address or my partner's home address if addressed to him.

Will you be selling individual cards? Are you looking for use cases in the healthcare vertical (noticed its not on your current list)? Working in the medical imaging space and could use this tech as part of the offering. Reach out at 16bit.ai

Seems like they have it registered. I'm sure they've already lawyered up and will protect their trademark. I think they have a pretty strong case. Maybe elon will license it or buy them.

I was also at RSNA. What was the model intended to do in this example?
Re:Ask HN: What prevents Google from having the leading LLM? on Tuesday December 12, 2023 @04:03PM (#38618485)
Furthermore, what is stopping Google/Alphabet from exercising their IP rights (i.e. They own a patent for the transformer architecture)? Sure it would be bad publicity, but it seems like they could prevent a ton of competition by simply enforcing that on a few large competitors.
Re:French AI startup Mistral secures €2B valuation on Saturday December 09, 2023 @08:43AM (#38581855)
Does anyone know the advantage of mistral over llama2? I understand the founders of mistral previously worked on llama.

This is a really elegantly worded perspective

I've noticed lately that I have a lot of jaw tension which is linked to stress and I think information overload which is related to this article. Has anyone else had this? What has worked?
This is good for Radiologists and not so good for orthopedic surgeons.
Re:Production AI systems are hard on Wednesday May 31, 2023 @11:22PM (#36147248)
Hinton has been crucified many times in radiology circles for his statements. It honestly feels like we've beaten a dead horse on this. Clearly he was wrong and did not understand the complexity of the field. Although he was wrong, his statements today (through the advent of LLMs) are less insane than they were even 7 months ago and directionally he saw the progress of the technology. His magnitude/timeline was off and time will tell if he is one day proven right.
Re:Production AI systems are hard on Wednesday May 31, 2023 @11:14PM (#36147208)
Also a rad (and heavily in the AI field). I think you mean 90% have inconsequential findings and not that they are "normal". Can you really apply untouched templates to 90% of your cases? I find that very hard to believe. How many templates do you have and how can they possibly describe the variety of possible findings seen on each type of study?
Re:Production AI systems are hard on Wednesday May 31, 2023 @10:38PM (#36147003)
There is a trade off of quality and quantity. Most healthcare systems reimburse based on quantity so which way do you think AI will be implemented?
Their is a big difference between selling fsd software as an upgrade (which in my opinion could be sold as a one time up front expense like it is or as a service) and a heated seat function (which should not be sold as a service). One must consider the resources required to continually service the feature or upgrade.
My dad let me go to work with him (running a radio shack) on weekends while i was in high school. Didn't pay me much but the value was in the education, learning how to sell and solve people's problems with technology.
Re:Ask HN: Is Inflation Affecting You? on Friday September 02, 2022 @10:18PM (#32697984)
I see these as positive lifestyle changes
Re:Which Asset Classes Provide Inflation Hedges? on Thursday September 01, 2022 @11:39PM (#32686308)
Im curious to know if inflationary environments are inherently more volatile. In which case, long volatility would be an important component to a portfolio. I know Chris Cole has studied this extensively but not sure how the long volatility component fares relative to the other components.

Best way to come up with s startup idea: don't think about startup ideas. Read some PG essays.
