Many times the spreadsheet is a collaborative document. One way to use spreadsheets is you use it for a number of iterations, get your outcome quickly, let stakeholders give feedback and adjust the approach. Then once it becomes stable, then you turn it into a database/app/script. Errors in spreadsheets are obvious to more users than errors in code because your work is shown, not hidden.
Taking a csv file and writing bash is not the answer. If you are doing that, you should probably get back to work/research.
Ended up in Accounting, dabbled with Python and now back to programming with Cursor/Claude.
It did get me just far enough so I could see that computers were complicated but not actually magic and like you did change my life.
Your version reminds me of OneNote when it was new and good and not horrible. Being able to place your notes where you want them is such a radical concept.
The features you have are simple and the idea of stacking notes is really cool and don't think I've seen that done before.

Show HN: I built an AI coach for introverted leaders
https://www.leadquiet.com/landing
I spent 15 years in FP&A and corporate budgeting. For the first 10, I actively avoided management because the path to leadership seemed designed for extroverts. Be more visible. Speak up in meetings. Network at happy hours.I eventually got promoted anyway, mostly by taking ownership of problems I cared about fixing more than I cared about avoiding meetings. Turns out if you run the meeting,...
One thing was that being so close to the edge means hard to shoot things that are headed for you.
I thought this was really well done, but I was a bit thrown to be blocked after 8 turns with the come back tomorrow thing.

If you want to build the app you want to use, go for it.
