It's fascinating how Americans think everyone is annoyed, just for having a different opinion. No where did I say I hated Elon or Tesla or that I was annoyed.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Saturday October 17, 2026 @08:47AM (#50130651)
I don't want flying cars.

I want clean water. I want a stable climate. I want bees to survive.

How the ad-based spyware actually worked (from the Citizen Lab and Confiant reports):

- It came in through the front door. Discover-Tech ran its own ad-buying platform and was listed as a "certified" vendor by Google and IAB Europe for six years. Nothing was hacked to get in. It bid in ad auctions like any other buyer.

- The ads looked harmless. Plain banners for games, AliExpress deals and an IP-lookup site. Hidden inside each one was a small script that quietly phoned home when the ad loaded.

- Everyone who saw an ad was profiled. The script collected device details, IP addresses and, on many sites, the publisher's own cookies, sometimes including logged-in session tokens. Cookie-syncing with other ad networks built a huge identity graph.

- Only chosen targets got the payload. A gatekeeper server checked each device's ad ID and IP. Most people got nothing back. A selected target got code that handed them off to spyware maker Candiru, and the code was served only once, which made it very hard for researchers to capture.

- The handoff was built to defeat inspection. Encrypted channels, rotating hosting, anti-bot checks and even a fake "Copyright Google" comment to fool human reviewers.

- It worked. At least 45 devices at Al Jazeera were targeted, and spyware was recovered from an infected machine. Its ads also appeared on networks belonging to NATO, the UN, the European Parliament, the ICC and various defence ministries.

- The scale was huge. Billions of bids and ads in nearly 200,000 apps and websites, including Duolingo, Viber, Yahoo Mail, dating apps and period trackers, yet almost no sign of real advertisers or revenue.

You are still in the minority whether you are called a racist or not.

The problem isn't muslim immigrants. The problem is the established powers and the billionaires. The invisible doctrine.

Divide and conquer is an established and very successfully used tool to get undereducated and gullible people on side to do keep them busy as useful idiots.

“The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.” - Orwell, 1984

I'm not sure what you are trying to protect. Are you aware of British imperialism? Are you aware that we literally did what you are complaining about (but much worse) to half of the globe? You are proud of that?

I don't know where to start with you, but I bet you didn't do that well in school . Be honest. I'm right am I not?

They guy writes things like this https://world.hey.com/dhh/as-i-remember-london-e7d38e64.

Let me say that the generalisations made in here about a far right minority march as if it is 'all brits' is brazen, but not naive.

He want's you to think all Brits think like this, in order to push his racist agenda. Let me tell you his mate Tommy Robinson is despised by many.

Don't fall for it. Divide and conquer. As old as British Imperialism.

Detect people, measure breathing and heart rate, track movement, and monitor rooms through walls, in the dark, with no cameras or wearables. Just physics.
Re:Xiaomi-Robotics-1 on Monday July 20, 2026 @04:18AM (#48975711)
I am of course impressed by the model and the robot. Great stuff,

But the downside is that won't we all just turn into the obese, stupid humans at the start of the WALL-E film?

Mindfulness teaches us that we can enjoy the washing up, the laundry, planting seeds, tending the garden. It connects us to something. Without this will we end up with a rise in mental health issues, because for one thing people will just end up on social media in the time they save.

Just a thought.

Re:Queen Elizabeth II has died on Friday September 09, 2022 @06:49AM (#32777679)
Now would be a great time to change the national anthem to something without God or royalty in it.

There is no place in modern society for a family who got all their wealth from wars and stealing it. Only to parade it around infront of millions of people in poverty.

Lets get rid of them. Start by turning the palaces into social housing.

Thanks for submitting this it was interesting to see. Is this an old project because the video example uses React Classes rather than functional components and hooks.
Re:World’s first octopus farm stirs ethical debate on Friday February 25, 2022 @03:08AM (#30464793)
The burden of a violent diet (nmeat and diary) is much higher that a plant based one to any sane human.
Re:World’s first octopus farm stirs ethical debate on Friday February 25, 2022 @03:06AM (#30464778)
Absolute nonsense. There are over 80 million fit and healthy vegans worldwide.

Processed food weather it is vegan or carnist is always more expensive but fruit, vegetables, lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, grains etc are all actually very very cheap compared to meat and diary in a western diet.

All animals should start with protected status until wwe can prove they don't feel anything
In a climate emergency should we be pushing animal ag? Seems counter productive to humanities ultimate goals.
It's old news but

Avoiding meat and dairy is ‘single biggest way’ to reduce your impact on Earth.

If we all did it today we would make a huge difference to a collpasing system.

They pay taxes in the UK and we still have functioning communities and community groups.

In many muslim countries in the world there are plenty of places like this because alcohol just isn't a thing.

Re:Why Aren't More Highly Intelligent People Rich? on Friday February 14, 2020 @08:39AM (#22326367)
My guess without reading the article is, that money bores them ?
Being concerned about privacy is not an Amish Bias, it means our citizens are less likely to be abused by some tech company.
Re:Apocalyptic Claims About Climate Change Are Wrong on Wednesday November 27, 2019 @10:41AM (#21648764)
The climate change issue is not isolated. It is intrinsically linked with ecocide, species extinction and the poisoning of all natural environments. The slide into an apocalyptic state will be caused by all of these together. So viewing it in a silo is dangerous and incorrect. IMO.
