Re:Startup "Co-Founder" Equity on Friday September 07, 2012 @07:47PM (#4491726)
Yes, that is correct. The idea is just to help the company grow as much as possible, continuing to hire and pay others first. I guess I've been acting as a partner in the company for a while now but not been an official equity partner on paper.

Yes 7.5% is more than nothing. I'm trying to figure though if that number is low or high. What do you think based on this information? What does your gut say?

Startup "Co-Founder" Equity

I'm considering becoming an equity partner in an existing company. I've worked a year with this company, probably 5-10 hours a week. I really believe in the company and think it can be something cool. I've not taken any payment or salary yet. This SAAS company is making about $5k per month revenue, $3500 profit... so presumably without much effort we'll be at a similar place next year without...

I've used a computrainer before to capture this data, weak spots in pedaling. Not sure how this technology works though.

Yes, Strava phone app. I don't have the fancy smancy garmins/power meters/etc. Does it show though on a Garmin when you enter a segment if you are running Strava?

Interesting idea. How is Training load calculated? Some sort of algorithm that takes into account upcoming race schedule, age, category, past riding schedule?

And 'Pedal force vs. cadence', does this reveal where weak spots are in your stroke? Also does it show you your optimal cadence, based on speed and duration of ride. I think that would be great information to have.

Also, with strava I'd love to see when different sections are starting and ending so I know exactly when to gas it and stop, perhaps even how I'm progressing as I'm riding. This is pretty unrelated though to this app.

Great to hear. Congrats. Wish we had something like this in Charlotte, or I could just move to Seattle.

It's not what you say, it's what people say about you. Kinda like a popularity contest in high school. If you are quarterback screwing the hot cheerleader, most people are looking/following you (whether they "like" you or not). So, get links. Lots of 'em. source: http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors

Yes, setting up your site based on broad or long tail terms is good foundation...but you can rank your site for words that aren't even on your site. Why do you think disney ranks for 'exit' and 'leave'? http://blog.searchmetrics.com/us/2011/04/14/the-evolution-of...

I wonder how much he had made from us talking about him here?
I guess they aren't using GPS. If they did, I wonder I studying other brain increasing activities would give the cabbies even smarter brains.

I don't know anything about it but doesn't sound like much fun, winter in Canada.

Actually, won't it be summer in both?

Agree 100%. Look at ways to get each page indexed with original quality content.
Yes, there is content. I started this idea but it has just been me talking about how others are nice to me.

How do I get others to participate? Any thoughts?

I was thinking of getting a sponsor to provide a prize to the winner every week.

Re:74.1% yield on 2-year Greek government bonds on Tuesday September 13, 2011 @11:16AM (#2991805)
We have it then. A Lehman is a term of measuring crappy financial situations and is worth $613B.

So, a correct use would be like "Don't worry, our national debt is only 25 Lehmans."

Re:74.1% yield on 2-year Greek government bonds on Tuesday September 13, 2011 @08:10AM (#2991051)
Thanks. If I bought these bonds and they actually paid back, if get a 75% return? So, how is risk calculated...quantitatively or more gut?
Re:74.1% yield on 2-year Greek government bonds on Tuesday September 13, 2011 @07:49AM (#2990982)
Can you explain this in lehmans?
Based on your scenario and if this was successful, wouldn't the incentive/money for authors to write new textbooks be removed?
How would you rather prefer submission?
Cool. And does your startup help with this process as well, like formatted tweets, emails, messages?

Also, it would be important to be able to see who is helping the most and how much more they are helping than others. Did you address this as well?

Say I figure out which people are influencing sales more than others, what should I do with that data? Maybe get with these people to have them share more often.
