I built Thok because I missed the sound of a mechanical keyboard when working on a MacBook. A few things I cared about:

– It’s 296 KB and lives in the menu bar. – It runs in the App Sandbox with no network entitlement at all. No accounts, no analytics, no update checks. – It needs Input Monitoring, but only reads physical key codes, not characters, to pick and position a sound. Nothing is stored. – Each keystroke is panned across your audio output to roughly where the key sits on the built-in keyboard.

Yes we love it. We have been using zoro.im for business for almost 8 months now as a replacement of Skype.

Also when I approached Apple about it , they said it's a cosmetic issue and they cannot help.

But actual issue may be poor build quality or defective glass
