Re:OpenSpec – A lightweight and configurable AI spec framework on Thursday September 17, 2026 @03:08PM (#49745158)
Could you elaborate on what type of greenfield projects you work on? I'm in a similar boat and have had the exact opposite experience, it took a while to setup, do research on stacks and architectures (where I'd say I have a decent amount of experience), but once that setup was done, it allowed me to really be very efficient with development

It's interesting to see the divergence of opinions on these frameworks and also at least anecdotally how many people roll their own custom implementations of workflow management on top of their favourite SDD framework.

I also ended up doing my own thing mainly to address several omissions in the existing frameworks (for SDD I prefer to use Superpowers and/or Matt Pocock's skills):

1. Artifact staleness and tracking - if you have a structure around starting with something like an ADR, common patterns for the whole repo etc., it's super hard to keep track of and actually keep it up to date. You make a strong early decision in an ADR and realize that you have to change it later on, or diverge. These changes get rarely properly recorded.

2. Review loop - Same model review isn't enough, I want bunch of models bouncing off each other, whilst still using my subscription and not API.

3. Feature creep and deferral tracking - it happens a lot that you encounter either during review or one of the validation phases that you also need to implement x, which is not covered by the original spec. There are several options to handle that, with the key that all those decisions need to be tracked and at some point decided by a human.

4. Custom workflow with governance - I have my own preferred SDLC if you can call it that, which includes rounds of agentic review of spec, before manual approval gate, review loop with certain specification depending on the codebase, feature size, deferral rules.

5. Ceremony based on context - Because it would happen that some of the ceremony would get in the way at some points (like producing a 100+ loc spec for 10loc change) I ended up basically developing a flow to decide whether a feature actually needs the full ceremony (full lane) or we can simply use the native plan feature (fast lane), so that I don't have to go through the whole ordeal of steps, when I need a tiny change.

I forked this code and added bits that matched my flow and it works out pretty well https://github.com/nutthouse/tutti

That's the direction we want to also take our ideas battleground https://pitchslap.gg

I think that there is something there to just let the models burn tokens for pure entertainment value

Did you compare your flow to superpowers/GSD?
Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026) on Monday April 13, 2026 @07:13AM (#47750407)
Me and a buddy of mine were sick of all things AI in our daily jobs, so we started to play around with different ways to use LLMs and landed on PitchSlap (https://pitchslap.gg).

You create arenas, which are thematic problem statements, submit ideas to solve it, and then vote on the best one, all with help of your avatar. The idea is to use AI as a part of the ideation process, which could be for things like hackathons (what can we build to solve x), evaluating business ideas, or in general just mess around with models. And the whole thing is wrapped in a high-concept anime corporate parody style.

There are also battles, which are shorter simpler versions of arenas and showdowns, which are supposed to be a follow up to arena, where you flesh out the winning idea - answer a set of questions about the idea and again vote on the best answer.

We have a bunch of features and ideas to take the concept forward (credit style economy, where you play for "slaps"; fully automated mode, where AI driven avatars hash out the whole game-play cycle and you can observe, RPG-style attributes for the avatars that have more significant impact to the pitch generation process), but have in general enjoyed the process of using these technologies for something a little less serious.

Re:Stealing Your Private YouTube Videos, One Frame at a Time on Monday January 11, 2021 @10:12AM (#25729908)
I think that it's a pretty reasonable payout - people running bug bounties are mostly interested in actual security impact and practical exploitability. And the necessity to hit G server thousands of times to extract even a short video reduces that by quite a large proportion; which is definitely not a shot at the researcher, it's a great find, but exploitability is definitely lower than more direct form of IDOR (e.g. input private video ID and get the whole video in response).

By the same logic, blind SQLi will typically be valued 'less' (hence pay out less) than SQLi with output.
